Moreover, it explores effectiveness and aptitudes as a teaching technique to improve students’ writing proficiency. In order to check this correlation, we have hypothesized that teachers and students in the Department of Letters and English hold a positive attitude towards cooperative learning for developing their writing skill. To test the meaningfulness of our hypothesis, two questionnaires are used: one for a group of students and another for teachers who have already taught written expression in the same University. The gathered data are analyzed and compared, and results have shown the prominence of cooperative group which almost always yields positive results and contributes to create a pleasant working atmosphere. In other words, the students’ and the teachers’ answers have showed that there is a strong correlation between cooperative group work as a classroom technique and the students’ writing proficiency.
