Note générale : Une copie électronique PDF disponible en Bus Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : Language Sciences Correlation Critical Thinking Language Learning Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : Thinking critically is very significant in promoting language learning. However, its importance is mostly not deemed in the Algerian education. Therefore, this research aims at showing how substantial it is to integrate critical thinking skills in language learning, and we hypothesized that thinking critically enhances language learning. Our study begins with presenting the ideal approach wherein critical thinking can be implemented, the learners’ centered approach. Then, it defines learning, thinking, and shows the relationship between language and thought. Most importantly, this study provides a literature review about critical thinking which can be of great help to both students and teachers. Finally, it presents the investigation of the hypothesis. To reach the aim of the study, we relied on two means of research: the test and the interview. The sample of students chosen for this study were given a sample of the Watson Glaser appraisal test that evaluated their ability to think critically. The test results were compared to the students’ first semester exams scores that are supposed to reflect their language proficiency. The comparison between critical thinking and language proficiency scores showed that there is no correlation between the two variables; thus, we refuted the research’s hypothesis. We supposed that there are factors that made us reject our hypothesis, the supposition of particular factors served us to design the questions of the interview. The students’ answers affirmed that the factors hinder the students’ exams scores to be representative of their real language proficiency; hence, it affects the investigation of the correlation between the exams’ scores and critical thinking scores. Through the findings of this research, we drew several conclusions and suggested some implications like incorporating critical thinking in the teaching and assessment of language proficiency of English students at Constantine 1 University. learning styles in the language learning settings. We aimed at identifying both teaching styles
and learning styles as well as raising teachers' awareness towards their students' learning
styles and the importance of adapting their strategies according to them. We hypothesized that
if teachers match their instructional strategies to the learners’ styles then, they will teach more
efficiently. As a means of research, we used two main questionnaires; the teachers and the
learners’ questionnaire. The teachers’ questionnaire was given to twenty teachers, and the
learners’ questionnaire to forty Master one learners of English (language sciences) at the
department of English –Brothers Mentouri University. Results of both questionnaires revealed
that learners consider the importance of their learning styles in grasping information with the
help of their consistent strategies, and the importance of tying them to the learning situation.
In addition, teachers see that including learning styles/ strategies in teaching process has its
benefits. While, they are not aware of matching their strategies to their learner’ stylesDiplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=8934 The role of matching teaching styles to the learners’styles in the language learning process : The case of master one students (language sciences), english department, brothers mentouri university [texte imprimé] / Safia Harouni, Auteur ; F.Zohra Kerbouche, Auteur ; Ahmed Moumene, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2016 . - 90 f. ; 30 cm.

Titre : The role of the cooperative language learning technique in developing learners’ oral production : The case of second year secondary school learners at eldjadida high school didouche mourad –constantine Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Firdaws Mokhtari, Auteur ; Mohammed Rafik Fadel, Directeur de thèse Editeur : CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine Année de publication : 2013 Importance : 80 f. Format : 30 cm. Note générale : Une copie électronique PDF disponible en BUC. Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : Language Sciences Role Cooperative Language Learning Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : The current research aims at investigating the crucial role that the cooperative language
learning technique plays in developing learners’ oral production. Throughout this study, we
believe that the implementation of a well-structured cooperative activity in the secondary
school English classes would contribute to provide the learners with extensive language use
which would enhance their oral production.
To verify this hypothesis and to achieve the research intended aim, we depended on two
tools of investigation: an experiment and a questionnaire. First, the experiment was to
implement the cooperative language learning technique in English classes and then test its
effect through observing the students while performing orally in front of their classmates.
Second, the questionnaire was handed in to the learners in order to reinforce the test’s results
and to infer the subjects’ attitudes towards the effect of the implementation of the cooperative
language learning technique on their speaking proficiency.
The analysis and the interpretation of the results of both the test and the students’
questionnaire show that teaching the speaking skill using the cooperative language learning
technique promotes the learners’ oral production which means that there is a strong
relationship between them. Eventually, English secondary school teachers could adopt this
technique in order to enhance their learners’ oral productionDiplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=6796 The role of the cooperative language learning technique in developing learners’ oral production : The case of second year secondary school learners at eldjadida high school didouche mourad –constantine [texte imprimé] / Firdaws Mokhtari, Auteur ; Mohammed Rafik Fadel, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2013 . - 80 f. ; 30 cm.

Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : The present study attempts to explore the effect of watching movies / series on language
learning development from the learners’ point of view. The study attempts to answer the
following question: How do learners perceive the effect of watching English movies/series on
the development of their linguistic skills? To answer this question, a sample of 26 Algerian
students, learning English as a foreign language in the Department of Letters and English
language, at Mentouri University, Constantine 1, has been selected randomly and requested to
answer a questionnaire. The findings of the study indicate that the majority of the participants
think that English movies and series have a positive influence on their language learning skills,
besides their belief in the importance of audiovisual methods in improving learning English as
a foreign language.Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=13643 Students’ Perceptions of the Effect of Watching English Movies and Series On oral performances The Case of undergraduate Students of English Department of Frères Mentouri University Constantine 1 [texte imprimé] / Rafik Delmi, Auteur ; Sabrina Moussa, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2020 . - 64 f. ; 30cm.
