effective method that would be used to motivate students to perform better orally by
enhancing their vocabulary. It is by means of two questionnaires administered to both
teachers and third year LMD students at the department of English that we have collected the
data. The questionnaires were mainly designed to identify the evaluation of the
students’skills, investigate the current methods of teaching oral expression and to check the
students’ and teachers’ views toward CMC and if it is feasible at university. The teachers are
selected from three different universities; Constantine, Batna and Oum El Bouaghi. They have
been asked to evaluate the effectiveness of Computer-Mediated Communication on enhancing
the students’ vocabulary and speaking skills. We hypothesized that if teachers of oral
expression use CMC before starting the classroom discussion, they will probably enhance
their students’ speaking. The results obtained from this study show that Computer-Mediated
Communication is a motivational tool that can be used in our context to enhance the students’
vocabulary. The number of students inside the classroom needs to be reduced in order to
make the materials available for all the students.Eventually, this study aims at suggesting to
teachers a new method that we believe would be helpful in improving the students’ speaking
skills.Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=6120 Enhancing students’ speaking skills through computer-mediated communication : The case of third year lmd students of english at mentoury university-constantine [texte imprimé] / Salsabil Satour, Auteur ; Djamila Babaa, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2012 . - 70 f. ; 30 cm.

Format : 30 cm. Note générale : Une copie électronique PDF disponible en BUC. Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : Language Sciences Teachers’ Learners’ Large Classes Students’ Speaking Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : The present dissertation, a total of three chapters, is intended to investigate the effects of large
classes on students’ oral performance on the basis of the attitudes of both students and teachers.
The objective of the investigation is to find out how the large class affects the learning of the
speaking skill. The basic hypotheses adopted in this study sets out that, if students study in large
classes, then their speaking ability will not be improved and that if teachers teach large classes,
they will not be able to achieve all their educational goals. In order to achieve the objective of
this study, two questionnaires are used; one for teachers of oral expression, and another for third
year LMD students of English from the department of foreign languages at Mentouri Brothers
University of Constantine. The results obtained from the analysis of the two questionnaires have
shown that large classes make the learning as well as the teaching of the speaking skill a very
challenging task. Both teachers and learners are unsatisfied with the big number of students per
group because this creates inappropriate learning conditions. Such conditions may lead to noise,
lack and unequal opportunities for students to participate and talk, and teachers cannot achieve
their teaching objectives. So, the large class hinders the improvement of learners’ oral
performance. In short, the results have confirmed the stated hypothesesDiplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=6214 Teachers’ and learners’ attitudes towards the effect of large classes on students’ speaking skill : The case of third year lmd students of english at constantine university [texte imprimé] / Imen Bendjama, Auteur ; Manel Ferdi, Auteur ; Amel Soucha, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2015 . - 117 f. ; 30 cm.
