Résumé : |
Recent studies in the field of language teaching emphasize the importance of the
learning process and the central role of the learner. With the new role that is assigned to the
learner, our classrooms have to be reconsidered and much more emphasis has to be given to
the learner. Because grammar is significant, teacher’s techniques to teach this skill were
investigated, and more precisely the extent to which they incorporate elements of cooperative
learning (CLL): a new approach which is supported by research because of its motivational
effects on the learner and learning. Based on the aspect investigated, a hypothesis was put;
small group interaction is likely to help learners of grammar develop the grammatical
accuracy that is a meaningful use of learned grammatical structures. To valid this hypothesis
one questionnaire for teachers of 4A.M, and three tests were used during three weeks for
pupils the latters were analyzed. The results of the teacher’s questionnaire show that 4A.M
teachers are concerned with the cooperative learning and they try to create a good atmosphere
of learning. Pupil’s tests show that the central prediction is confirmed. Conversational
interaction in small groups did foster learner’s accurate grammatical performance. |
