Biologie Résumé :
Several months of prospecting in the forest of Collo allowed us to perform a series of samples in various edaphic environments in order to enrich our knowledge about soil fauna.
The results show an exceptional richness in endemic rare species having a large taxonomic and biogeographic interest. Seventy-one species are identified, of which four are new to science and are described in this work and published. Three of the four new species belong to the same genus: Pseudachorutes deficiens, Pseudachorutes labiatus and Pseudachorutes octosensillatus (neanuridae, Pseudachorutinae.).
The fourth new species belongs to the genus Deutonura: Deutonura zana (Collembola:neanuridae: Neanurinae) second species of the same genus in Algeria. This species was collected in Edough and more recently in Collo. Our study reveals the existence of cryptic diversity (not apparent morphologically) between populations of Edough and Collo. This genetic divergence is revealed by the sequencing of the mitochondrial gene COI. This is a case in Neanurinae.
Several unidentified species are listed in morphospecies or sp. They are in number of 16,
representing 22% of the total number of harvested species. Regarding biogeographical membership of harvested wildlife, 45% of species are widely distributed, 16% are rare or possibly endemic species.
One of the original features of this work is the presence of an endemic species (Sensillanura
austriaca) from the north’s Alpes so far.
The wealth of the massif Neanuridae is much higher than most of other Mediterranean regions (excluding Corsica) sampled significantly. Diversity index indicate that Oued Z'hor is the richest of the four areas surveyed.
There is a significant difference in species composition between localities, indicating that according to geographical origin, the same habitat does not present the same specific composition.
The result of the comparison of the diversity of the Collembola of the Collo massif to those of the bulk of the Edough shows that there are significant dissimilarities in the faunal composition (33 common species between Collo and Edough). Cases of clear vicariances were detected, the most remarkable one between Edoughnura sp., from Collo and the endemic species of the same kind Edoughnura rara from Edough (Deharveng & KrouaHamra, 2007). The second case is an intraspecific level of a genetic divergence between populations of Deutonura zana of the two massifs. This cryptic diversity suggests that a
parapatric area may exist in the north of Azzaba.

The prospection of eight (08) localities of the North-East of Algeria belonging to three bioclimatic stages allows us to carry out a series of samplings in the edaphic environments. Samples analyzed at the laboratory of Biosystematics and arthropods ecology. The fauna encountered is composed of 89 species belonging to the four orders of known Collembola, to 17 families and 51 genera. The predominance of the Poduromorpha order with 43 species constitutes a remarkable character of this fauna. 24 species are reported here for the first time in Algeria including Isotomurus sp., Proisotoma sp. and Pseudosinella sp. 1, all three harvested at Collo, are new to Science and are being described.
Among the eight localities surveyed, it is from the Collo forest that most of the species harvested and identified are found, ie 72 species. The richness of the Neanuridae massif is much greater than that of most other Mediterranean regions (excluding Corsica) sampled significantly. Diversity indices indicate that Oued Z'hor is the richest station among the four stations surveyed at Collo. Another major interest of this faunistic study is the discovery of biogeographically unexpected taxa, in particular Sensillanura austriaca with its unusual ""Collo - Northern Alps"" disjunction model. A common species in our samples that can be new has been described and drawn. This description revealed that the species may be related to the species Heteromurus tetrophthalmus Börner, 1903 of Sicily, insufficiently described and considered for more than 30 years as a synonym of H. nitidus Templeton, 1836. Today, this work makes the Collo Massif one of the richest sites in Algeria for the
diversity of its fauna. It also illustrates the extent of geographical gaps in the knowledge of this Algerian fauna.

Edough Biogéographie Collembola Inventory Taxonomy Algeria Biogeography Ecology Index. décimale : 570 Sciences de la vie. Biologie Résumé : Several hundreds of samples taken in seven localities of the Algerian NorthEast are analyzed. The taxonomic study on the level of the species reveals the presence of a total of 113 species of Collembola. The inventory of the country in Collembola is enriched by a contribution by 56 new species, of which 49 are announced here for the first time in North Africa. The majority of the species lately announced in Algeria are also new for North Africa, which shows that a East
Algerian fauna quite different from that of the surrounding countries, in particular of Morocco which was studied the most. Fauna met is composed of species belonging to the four orders of known Collembola, 15 families and 55 genera. The prevalence of the Poduromorpha order with 57 species and 26 genera constitutes a remarkable character of the fauna of Collembola. Inside this group, the family emerges from Neanuridae which is represented by 27 species belonging to 3 subfamilies. One of them, Frieseinae with 11 species of the same genera (Friesea) constitutes the other original character of the collembolan fauna. Among the seven prospected localities, it is mountainous massif of Edough that the essence of the total collected and identified species comes, that is to say 78 species. The most unexpected character of this fauna is the diversity of the Friesea genera (8 species) and Hypogastrura genera of the astonishing richness specific of
Neanuridae met in the massif of Edough: 19 species against only 10 in the remainder of the country. What makes it distinguish from all the Mediterranean forested mountains vaster and more intensely studied. Four new species are described: Deutonura n.sp.zana, Friesea n.sp.major, Friesea n.sp.algirica and Friesea laouina, of which is published, (Deharveng & Hamra-Kroua, 2004). Twenty two species are rare, are listed with comments on their taxonomic position, and makes it possible to expect new discoveries. Affinities of the settlement of Collembola are primarily with Mediterranean fauna. The fauna of Edough consists of some European elements and circumméditerranéen. The dynamics of the settlement of Collembola endogens is determined by the seasonal variation of the fundamental edaphic factors: temperature and moisture .Their seasonal, obvious impact surfaces some, feels even in the in-depth ground.Diplôme : Doctorat En ligne : ../theses/biologie/HAM4277.pdf Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=1436 Les Collemboles(Hexapoda, Arthropoda) du Nord-Est algerien : taxonomie, biogéographie et écologie [texte imprimé] / Salah Hamra-Kroua, Auteur ; Djamel Alatou, Directeur de thèse . - Constantine : Université Mentouri Constantine, 2005 . - 226 f. ; 30 cm.

Biologie Résumé : The inventory of Collombolan fauna in the three stations of the East of Algeria revealed the presence of 44 species distributed on 4 orders, 10 families and 30 genuses. Among these species, 10 are new for Algeria and 9 for Arabic Maghreb (Morocco, Tunisia, and Libya).
In Biskra, in the saharian environment also in Tinsilt in semi-arid environment the diversity is very slight. However, in Edough the diversity is very important (36 species). The biogeographic repartition of species in the three stations of research shows a tremendous number of Euro-Mediterranean fauna. The proportion of non-identified species reveals that algerian Collembolan fauna is not well known yet.
The ecological study of a Collembolan population stresses the deteminant character of the season variation of the fundamental edaphic factors: temperature and humidity of soil. Their season influence’evident in the humid zone is now confirmed in the semi-arid as well. - 2006 . - 101 f.
