Biologie Résumé : Pistacia lentiscus L. (Anacacrdiaceae), known locally as « ed’drew”, is a shrubby tree with a
fruit containing a fixed oil, used in traditional medicine, specially at Eastern part of North
Africa (Algeria, Tunisia), for its wound healing effect and as remedy against respiratory
allergy ailments.
This study deals with evaluation of physico-chemical indexes, a comparative thin layer
chromatography of Pistacia lentiscus oil, unsaponifiable fraction and lipophilic hexane extract
of P. lentiscus fruits, as well as, a topical and oral toxicological study of oil in animal
(mousse, rabbit).
Values of physico-chemical P. lentiscus oil parameters are comparable to those published
elsewhere [i.e. density index : 0,918 to 0,920, refraction index : 1,468 to 1,469 ; acid
index:5,891 à 6,203 (mg KOH / g) ; saponification index(mg KOH / g) : 197,75 à 200,45].
Chromarography revealed phytosterols presence in all samples examined. Cutaneous and oral
toxicities evaluations of P. lentiscus oil in animal (mousse, rabbit) concluded to the absence
of short time toxicities at used concentrations.Diplôme : Magistère En ligne : ../theses/biologie/BOU5424.pdf Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/md/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=1804 Caractérisation botanique et chimique et évaluation pharmaco-toxicologique d'une préparation topique à base d'huile de Pistacia lentiscus L. localized a potent activity in the dichloromethane (DCM) extract. Bio guided fractionation of DCM active
extract able us to track down a major activity in enriched fractions of triterpenes and alkamides. From the
triterpene fraction, four compounds were isolated, from which two were formally identified as pentacyclic
triterpenes. From the crude alcoholic extract of the roots, also investigated in this work, four products
were isolated, one of which is a pyranocoumarin, and the other three compounds were identified as a
phenylpropane derivatives. The nature of these phenylpropane, probably of lignan type, is under
investigation.
From the chemical point of view, the results obtained in this work provide a better understanding of
secondary metabolism in the roots of A. pyrethrum. The metabolic profile of the roots is characterized by
the presence of pentacyclic triterpenes, phenylpropane derivatives, coumarins and alkamides. Besides the
already reported alkamides, the other types of secondary metabolites are reported for the first time in this
species.
From the biological point of view, the results obtained by bioguided fractionation allowed to track a
significant antifungal activity in the moderately polar fractions, mainly containing triterpenes and
alkamides compounds.Diplôme : Magistère En ligne : ../theses/chimie/HAM5430.pdf Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/md/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=3795 Caractérisation chimique des principes à effet antidermatophyte des racines d'anacyclus L. strong activities in both diethyl ether (EE) and ethyl acetate (AE) crude extracts.
Ethyl acetate extract fractioning leads to three cardenolides glycosides. One of
which, hereafter named as W4, contains a digitoxigenine aglycone with disaccharides
attached to carbone 3. A potent molluscicidal activity is revealed after exposing snails
for 24 hours to cardenolide W4. Lethal concentrations DL50 et DL90 were found to be,
respectively equal to 3,35 ± 1,19 et 19,13 ± 10,67. Molluscicidal activity of
cardenolide W4, towards snails of Bulinus truncatus species, vector in growth cycle of
urogenital Bilharzia parasites, is reported by this study for the first time. In the expand
of time used (24 hours), the study showed also an inverse relationship between
exposing time and lethal concentration of cardenolide W4. This indicates that lethal
concentration may be minimized with expanding time of snails exposing to the tested
Biologie Résumé : Cleome arabica ssp arabica, a threatened desert plant, has been subjected to the phytochemical and pharmacological screening.
Hydroalcoholic extracts from different parts (leaves, seeds and roots) of C. arabica have been tested for their antioxidant, analgesic and wound healing activities, as well as their toxic potential.
Quantitative evaluation of the total phenols, flavonoids and anthocyanidins contents of the different extracts were made and completed with chromatographic HPLC/DAD/SM analysis. The obtained results revealed that leaves extract was characterized by a highly content in phenolic compounds, compared to other extracts.
Hydroalcoholic extract of the three parts of plant were marked by the presence of flavonoids, specially of flavonols type (quercetin, keampferol, and isorhamnetin).
Phenolic acids content is marked by the presence in the seeds extract of ferulic acid, para-hydroxybenzoic acid, and para-coumaric acid, and in the roots extract of tricaffeoylquinic, gallic, ferulic, and vanillic acids.
Evaluation of antioxidant effect made by the three in vitro tests (DPPH, FRAP and Phosphomolybdenum) showed a highly antioxidant activity of the leaves extract compared to those of seeds and roots. A direct correlation was found between phenol total and flavonoids contents and antioxidant activity.
The effectives doses obtained by three pain tests, namely tail flick, hot plate and acetic acid test were 291,84mg/Kg, 848,53mg/Kg and 683,52mg/Kg respectively. Analgesic activity of the aerial part of C. arabica was found to be dose- dependent. The Hydroalcoholic extract displayed on excision and thermal healing activities
wounds. The wound healing effect of C.arabica was significantly more important than that of a commercial ointment used as a positive control (Cicatryl®).
Toxicity assays (acute toxicity, and hemolytic effect) have showed that Hydroalcoholic extract of aerial part of C. arabica is safe at the maximal described doses.
