This work was devoted to the study of the characteristics of periodic structures of artificial materials by the application of numerical methods. Our interest was focused on the study of multilayer structures with one-dimensional photonic crystal by proposing a new design and analysis of these structures. We first recalled the periodic structures based on photonic crystals, their different types, as well as the notions of photonic bands and the basic materials used in these structures. The second chapter approached the FDTD method, we started with the theoretical presentation of the method, then its applications in structures (1D & 2D-PCs). The third chapter, treated the method of plane waves PWE and its application in resonators. We ended with the fourth chapter, where we proposed a new design and analysis of a onedimensional photonic crystal structure (1D-PC), based on the use of artificial materials (dielectricsuperconductors-plasmas) for the design of selective filters, by studying their transmission coefficient and the effects of varying the different parameters (thicknesses, angle of incidence,
magnetic field, temperature) using the TMM method. In the end, we succeeded in making a filter, with a high quality factor, better than the filters of the previous structures; which finds great application utility in the field of optical communication.

Indeed, a new technique of approximation has been proposed in this direction, using the DE (differential evolution) technique while showing its advantage compared to other famous techniques such as those developed by Charef or Oustaloup.
Fractional adaptive control laws with optimized parameters are developed in order to improve the control system behavior: In the case of fractional order linear systems, a model reference PID control based on a new optimization algorithm (Moth-Flame) has been proposed. In the case of fractional order chaotic nonlinear systems, the following approaches are considered: a first control with adaptive sliding mode to improve performance and robustness. Since fuzzy systems are universal approximators, this property is exploited to strengthen the previous control law by an
adaptive fuzzy controller. For an optimal control, the parameters of the sliding controller are calculated by PSO optimization technique. In all the previous cases, the analysis of stability and robustness are justified by the Lyapunov approach. The theoretical results are validated by simulation examples.

development of new electronic components for new applications.
The use of these materials offers advantages such as reducing weight and bulk, which is beneficial
for their integration into an electronic system.
In this thesis, we are focused in the simulation of the microwaves metamaterial devices. Various
components (antennas, biosensors) were designed, simulation was made using software HFSS.
This work is structured around two major axes: The first axis deals with the design of me
tamaterials inspired – antennas. The results obtained show a multifrequency comportment as well as
obtaining radiation patterns of different shapes, which allows these structures to be good candidates
for applications in wireless communication systems. The second axis presents metamaterial-based

pressure sensors using the combination of two techniques PCB-MEMS.
We started by describing the various manufacturing processes of pressure sensors and
summarizing the state of the art of the various methods of manufacturing the capacitive
pressure sensor. The modeling of the mechanical behavior of square, rectangular and circular
membranes is carried out to study the influence on the variation of capacitance as a function
of the applied pressure (the capacitive response), as well as the sensitivity to the pressure.
We determined the influence of the geometric parameters of the membrane on the
performance of the capacitive pressure sensor. We performed a comparative study between
the simulation results obtained from COMSOL software and the theoretical results. We found
that the simulation results are consistent with those of the theory.
We proposed two structures made of capacitive pressure sensors using PCB-MEMS
technology. The BETTS process is used to fabricate the SU-8 membrane and chemical
etching as well as the lift-off process to realize the two electrodes of the capacitive pressure
sensor. The gap between the two electrodes is defined by the thickness of the copper layer of
the commercial printed circuit. The main advantage of the proposed procedure is the
simplicity and low cost of the manufacturing process. Moreover, the ease of integrating
auxiliary electronic circuits on the same printed circuit and the possibility of modifying the
geometry of the structure for the specific application. Then, two prototypes were
manufactured, simulated and characterized to determine their characteristics. We found that
the sensitivity of the capacitive pressure sensor (first prototype) is 4.25 pF/ bar and the second
prototype has a sensitivity of 20.13 pF/bar. A simple calibration procedure is mentioned to
overcome the inherent deviations of the manufacturing process. We studied the effect of
temperature on the response of the capacitive pressure sensor. Consequently, the results
obtained by the COMSOL simulation are in good agreement with those of the experimental.
