language of teaching/learning, this research in didactics attemps toinvestigate the oral
and written language inadequacies of the first and third year students of the license
degreewho are considered as our informants.
We used a corpus which includes sound recordings and written productions. The
analysis revealed the presence of several difficulties in articulation, morphosyntax,
vocabulary, style and pronunciation.
To carry of the pratical part of this research work, we have used the mixed procedure
that combines qualitative and quantitative approaches. The first approachallowed us,
thanks to the investigation techniques that fall into (the directive and semi-structured
interview, the direct or participant observation, sound recording, and written
productions), to have an idea about the difficulties encountered by our respondents.
The second approach provided us the opportunity to quantity the data at hand ; i.e., to
turn them into numbers and rates.
Drawing on a directive and semi-directive interview, we discovered that the language
gaps of our informants are not new ; they go back to their training in cycles that preced
higher education (primary, middle and secondary).
As the language problems and lack of motivation are quite interrelated, we felt it
interesting to devote a whole chapter to motivation that plays a major role in investing
studies. Indeed, it is quite essential for the acquisition of knowledge.
To remedy the linguistic shortcomings of our informants, we proposed the use of oral
presentation and dictation. The first activity, used by university teachers to create a
communication situation, is considered by experts as the best way to encourage
learners to communicate and to speak about a specific topic.
The second activity is supposed to help them learn spelling.

Français Résumé : This research sheds lights on the importance of taking notes as a strategy in the apprenticeship process. The strategy in question is very interesting in all the levels, especially at the university where the learner is confronting a magisterial course.
The first part of the thesis is theoretic. It has two chapters. The first one counts for note-taking apprenticeship strategy cognitive. It situates the concept of “apprenticeship strategy” in the didactic of the languages history. The second chapter presents the multiple situations of note-taking. This should reveal the richness and utility of this activity.
The second part of the thesis is practical. It is formed of tree chapters. The first one presents the analysis and the results achieved thanks to a questionnaire given to the students. The questionnaire permit to check if the student needs the taking notes strategy in their apprenticeship process and also examine their motivation, their consciousness as for the utility of the notes taking strategy; the conception and functioning of during a course and also post note-taking activity and after all their formation as for the strategy in question.
The second chapter presents the talks and interviews analysis done with the students. The talks approach the points which expect explanations from the part of the students, for example: the note taking evolution among the students from a module to another and also from one year to another.
Finally, the third chapter of the practical part concerns the analysis of the students’ works. It permits to check if the student focus on the sense or better on the clues in the teachers’ purposes in the research of the essential information, if they use the abbreviations and if they are able to draft starting from their taken notes.

Visual technology in teaching has proved to be very useful in recent years. Hence, this study attempts to show how to motivate First year secondary school pupils to learn English through the use of one of the ICT’s (Information and Communication Technologies),Power Point Presentations, in the process of teaching and learning English in secondary schools. It aims at enhancing students’ motivation through attracting their attention by using audio visual aids. To realize this aim, the researcher opts for a quasi experimental design. The problem that this study tries to tackle is students’ lack of motivation towards learning English as a foreign language. Thus, it can be hypothesized that if students are taught using a new way of teaching through PowerPoint presentations, then they would be motivated and interested in studying English. A pre-test and a post-test are used with a group of thirty five students selected randomly from the whole population of first year scientific stream students (210 students) at Oued Taga secondary school (Batna). They are taught using power point presentations of some selected items in their units using projectors for a period of 20 weeks.A number of research instruments are used to collect data. Two questionnaires are addressed to EFL teachers and students in the same secondary school. Moreover, the classroom observation was set in order to obtain more direct, real and accurate data on what is going on when teaching with audio visual aids. The data collected were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively, using SPSS24 with a paired sample t-test. The findings revealed that teachers and learners support the use of PPPs. The teachers affirmed that they use it as a helpful tool to assist their teaching without neglecting the use of traditional methods. Besides, the learners believe that its use helps them a lot. Moreover, all of them recognized the importance of using educational technology and confirmed that it has a significant role in the EFL teaching and learning process. As a result, the results revealed the effectiveness of teaching via power point presentations, although some learners prefer the traditional way of learning.Note de contenu : Appendices.
