This work has been devoted to the design and characterization of some new heterocyclic nitrogen and sulfur donor ligands derived from quinoline, benz-imidazole and benzothiazole, as well as their coordination complexes. The evaluation of their antibacterial and antioxidant activity was also discussed. The 2-(1H-benzo[d]imidazol-2-yl) quinoline (BQ), 2-(((1-methyl-1H-imidazol-2- ylmethyl)sulfanyl)methyl)-1H-benzo[d]ligands imidazole (MIMTMB), 2-(((1-methyl-1Himidazol- 2-yl)methyl)sulfanyl)benzo[d]thiazole (MIMTBT), as well as two other ligands previously prepared in the laboratory: The bis((1H-benzo[d]imidazol-2-yl)methyl) sulfane (BBMS) and 2-((1H-benzo[d]imidazol-2-yl)methylthio)-1H-benzo[d]imidazole (BTMB) react with the chlorides of cobalt (II), zinc (II), manganese (II), mercury (II), lead (II), copper (II), and cadmium (II) to lead to coordination complexes. The structures of the ligands and their complexes have been elucidated by IR spectroscopy, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, UV-visible, elemental analysis and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The structural characterization by RX revealed the complex environment and the stability of the crystal structure by hydrogen bonds and π-π interactions. Theoretical calculations for some complexes were made to understand the geometry and the electronic structure of some compounds. As well as thermogravimetric analyzes that have been performed on some compounds to better understand their behavior and thermal stability. The antibacterial activity of certain ligands and complexes was evaluated against three strains: Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. As well as an evaluation of their antioxidant activity (DPPH test).Note de contenu :

The
structures of the ligands and the corresponding complexes were determined by IR, UV-vis, 1H
NMR, 13C NMR, elemental analysis and X-ray diffraction.
The structural characterization revealed the tetrahedral environment of the complexes
and the stability of the crystalline structure by hydrogen bonds and π-π interactions.
Theoretical calculations for some complexes were carried out in order to understand the
geometry and the electronic structure of some compounds.
The anticorrosive properties of some prepared compounds on steel in (0.5M) H2SO4
medium were studied. In other hand, their antimicrobial properties were tested against four
microbial strains: Pseudomonas syringae, Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumonia et
Pichia caribbica.

complexes using the two ligands 2-(2-aminophenyl) benzimidazole (2-ampb) and 4-
(dimethylamino) pyridine (DMAP).
Five mono, di and polynuclear coordination complexes based on copper (II) and
cadmium (II) were obtained with 2- (2-aminophenyl) benzimidazole ligand:
* ([Cu(C13H11N3)(NO3)2(H2O)2].H2O), (I).
* ([Cu(C13H11N3) (Cl)2]2), (II).
* ([[Cu(C13H11N3)2(H2O)2]2+, 2Cl-]. H2O), (III).
* ([Cd(C13H11N3)2(NO3)2],CH3OH), (IV).
* [Cd2(C13H11N3)2(CH3COO)4]n, (V).
The study of their magnetic proprieties contributes to a better understanding of the
factors responsible for the nature and intensity of magnetic interactions.
With the 4-(dimethylamino) pyridine ligand, we have obtained three new mono and
polynuclear coordination complexes with cobalt (II) and zinc (II):
* ([Co(C7H10N2)2(N3)2]n), (I).
* ([(C7H11N2)[CoCl3- (C7H10N2)]), (II).

The aim of this thesis is to synthesize new coordination complexes based on copper (II) and cobalt (II) in order to determine the different physical properties such as spectroscopy (IR,UV-vis),thermal study (ATG, DSC) and magnetic measurements. We have defined a preference for benzylimidazole as a ligand by using their coordination site to develop mononuclear complexes. The latter are synthesized by the aqueous route, structurally characterized by X-ray diffraction and have different geometries of the metal centers. The use of the benzylimidazole ligand possessing a potential coordination site and the different modes of carboxylate anion coordination with different transition metals, as well as the variation of the experimental conditions, allowed us to develop new complexes including two coordination polymers.
The crystalline cohesion of these materials is stabilized by hydrogen bonds and non-covalent interactions

الاشعاعية الضوئية الخصائص البيولوجيةIndex. décimale : 540 Chimie et sciences connexes Résumé : The 4,4'-diamino diphenyl sulfone, better known as Dapsone (DDS) is the simplest sulfone. Synthesized for over a century and better known for its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory activity. The work presented in this thesis has for aim the synthesis, the characterization and the structural study of new compounds having for matrix the molecule of DDS, as well as the evaluation of their biological activities and the investigation of their magnetic, luminescent and non-linear optical properties. During our research we were able to synthesize nine new compounds: Six new complexes with the DDS ligand, four based on Cu (II): one monomeric complex the aqua-bis(4,4’- diaminodiphenylsulfone- κN,N’)-(dinitrato-κO) copper (II), an organic-inorganic hybrid compound Diaquabis(4,4’-diaminodiphenylsulfone-κN,N’)-bis(N,N’-dimethylformamide- kO) copper (II) dinitrate, an ionic cocrystal Bis(2.2'-bipyridyl-κ2N,N’)-(nitrato-k2O,O’) copper (II) Nitrate bis(4,4’-diaminodiphenylsulfone) Trihydrate, a two-dimensional cadmium (II) coordination polymer catena-[(2,-4,4'-sulfonyldianiline k2N:N’)-aqua- (µ2-nitrato-k2O:O’) (di nitrato-k2O,O’) cadmium], a copper 1D-MOF’s catena-poly[cyclo-bis (µ2-4,4'- diaminodiphenylsulfone- k2N,N’)-diaqua (µ2-chlorido) -(trichloro) dicopper(II)] monohydrate, the last compound is a p-nitroaniline cadmium coordination complexe diaqua-bis(4-nitroaniline κN)-(dinitrato-κO) cadmium (II). The coordination complexes were characterized by IR spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction on powder and single crystal, their structural study was reinforced by an additional study, namely the Hirshfeld surface analysis. The magnetic properties of complexes (I), (II) and (III) have been studied both (I) and (II) have paramagnetic properties while (III) shows week antiferromagnetic coupling. The luminescent properties of the complex (IV) were investigated in solid and liquid state with a strong emission in the green region. The biological properties of complexes (I), (II) and (IV) as well as those of the DDS molecule were assessed, the results obtained shows a clear improvement of the antibacterial activity of the synthesized complexes in comparison with those of the parent molecule. Antioxydant activities of compounds (I), (II), (III) and (IV) was investigated neither of the compounds is a good antioxydant inhibitor. Enzymatic UREASE activity of compound (I) and (VI) were assessed. IC50 of compound (VI) proved better inhibitor activity than Thiourea. Even thought IC50 of compound (I) couldn’t be measured, the compound showed promising inhibitory activity. Three new hybrid compounds, namely (4-amino, 4ʹ-azaniumyldiphenyl) sulfone nitrate, (4,4ʹ- diazaniumyldiphenyl) sulfone dinitrate and Bis [di (4-azaniumylphenyl) sulfone tetranitrate monohydrate were characterized by IR spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction on single crystal were obtained, their nonlinear optical properties were evaluated, compound (I) and (II) showed good properties respectively of 2 and 1.23 times those of KDP, while (III) showed no NLO property. Antibacterial activities of compounds (I) and (II) showed comparable results to that of DDS molecule, and in contrario to the DDS molecule hybrid compound was water-soluble.

الاشعاعية الضوئية الخصائص البيولوجيةIndex. décimale : 540 Chimie et sciences connexes Résumé : The 4,4'-diamino diphenyl sulfone, better known as Dapsone (DDS) is the simplest sulfone. Synthesized for over a century and better known for its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory activity. The work presented in this thesis has for aim the synthesis, the characterization and the structural study of new compounds having for matrix the molecule of DDS, as well as the evaluation of their biological activities and the investigation of their magnetic, luminescent and non-linear optical properties. During our research we were able to synthesize nine new compounds: Six new complexes with the DDS ligand, four based on Cu (II): one monomeric complex the aqua-bis(4,4’- diaminodiphenylsulfone- κN,N’)-(dinitrato-κO) copper (II), an organic-inorganic hybrid compound Diaquabis(4,4’-diaminodiphenylsulfone-κN,N’)-bis(N,N’-dimethylformamide- kO) copper (II) dinitrate, an ionic cocrystal Bis(2.2'-bipyridyl-κ2N,N’)-(nitrato-k2O,O’) copper (II) Nitrate bis(4,4’-diaminodiphenylsulfone) Trihydrate, a two-dimensional cadmium (II) coordination polymer catena-[(2,-4,4'-sulfonyldianiline k2N:N’)-aqua- (µ2-nitrato-k2O:O’) (di nitrato-k2O,O’) cadmium], a copper 1D-MOF’s catena-poly[cyclo-bis (µ2-4,4'- diaminodiphenylsulfone- k2N,N’)-diaqua (µ2-chlorido) -(trichloro) dicopper(II)] monohydrate, the last compound is a p-nitroaniline cadmium coordination complexe diaqua-bis(4-nitroaniline κN)-(dinitrato-κO) cadmium (II). The coordination complexes were characterized by IR spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction on powder and single crystal, their structural study was reinforced by an additional study, namely the Hirshfeld surface analysis. The magnetic properties of complexes (I), (II) and (III) have been studied both (I) and (II) have paramagnetic properties while (III) shows week antiferromagnetic coupling. The luminescent properties of the complex (IV) were investigated in solid and liquid state with a strong emission in the green region. The biological properties of complexes (I), (II) and (IV) as well as those of the DDS molecule were assessed, the results obtained shows a clear improvement of the antibacterial activity of the synthesized complexes in comparison with those of the parent molecule. Antioxydant activities of compounds (I), (II), (III) and (IV) was investigated neither of the compounds is a good antioxydant inhibitor. Enzymatic UREASE activity of compound (I) and (VI) were assessed. IC50 of compound (VI) proved better inhibitor activity than Thiourea. Even thought IC50 of compound (I) couldn’t be measured, the compound showed promising inhibitory activity. Three new hybrid compounds, namely (4-amino, 4ʹ-azaniumyldiphenyl) sulfone nitrate, (4,4ʹ- diazaniumyldiphenyl) sulfone dinitrate and Bis [di (4-azaniumylphenyl) sulfone tetranitrate monohydrate were characterized by IR spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction on single crystal were obtained, their nonlinear optical properties were evaluated, compound (I) and (II) showed good properties respectively of 2 and 1.23 times those of KDP, while (III) showed no NLO property. Antibacterial activities of compounds (I) and (II) showed comparable results to that of DDS molecule, and in contrario to the DDS molecule hybrid compound was water-soluble.
