the comparison of results in parallel flow or against the current. The second part of the study was done by numerical simulation; we tested the mathematical model k − ε using finite volume in healthy fluent software. This work contributes greatly to the understanding of turbulent flows in a coaxial heat exchanger, and also shows the effect of physical parameters (temperature, diameter, flow rate) on the establishment of the turbulent flow in a coaxial heat exchanger.
The results obtained in this dynamics study of water in turbulent flow by the experimental and numerical study components are in good agreement and correspond to the results given in the literature (J.castaing-Lasvignottes). It has been found that the turbulent compact coaxial exchanger has a good configuration as it gives significant power exchange for surfaces too small. Flow phenomena of interest were observed. One can quote for example: The effect of various parameters (temperature, speed, and diameter) on the establishment of turbulent flow, the effect of the turbulence in the flow and in particular the behavior of the axial and tangential velocity fluctuations in this configuration exchanger has been shown numerically

The solar chimney is a generator of electrical power from solar energy, based on the conversion of the kinetic energy generated by natural convection into mechanical energy. However, the efficiency of this recent technique remains low compared to other processes. In order to increase the productivity of this system, our study has examined two essential techniques that have a direct impact on the performance, the first concerns the improvement of heat transfer which is an important factor to optimize the design of the chimney solar energy and the second is related to the combination of solar energy with other systems. In order to show the effect of heat transfer, two geometrical configurations of the solar chimney were considered. A two-dimensional, dimensionless numerical study with Fluent software, as a function of Rayleigh number and for both laminar and turbulent flow regimes, was undertaken. The possibility of combining a solar chimney with a gas turbine was studied. The injection of the exhaust gas at the inlet or in the middle of the collector was examined. In addition, a three-dimensional study was conducted to show the influence of the third direction on the flow and heat transfer in both laminar and turbulent regimes. The results obtained show that the position of the wind turbine in the geometrical configuration studied has an effect on the two velocity profiles at the outlet of the collector and at the inlet of the chimney. Moreover, it is clear that the coupling of the solar chimney with a gas turbine contributes to significantly improving the efficiency. The effect of the third direction was found in purely convective regimes.

The numerical study of aerodynamics was based on three cyclones with various lower diameters of the cone of the cyclone with various inlet velocities. Three digital models were compared to know RNG K-ε, k-ε and the RSM (Reynolds stress model). The three-dimensional nature of the flow was confirmed. The fall of pressure increases with the increase speeds of entry for all the studied models of turbulence. The fall decreases with the increase in the report/ratio of the diameter of the cone and the best choice it is cyclone 1. The validation of the results highlighted the advantage of the model of the stresses of Reynolds. This model collects better the phenomena in an intense turbulent flow in the presence of the walls. The objective of this workis to simulate numerically the main thermal and hydrodynamic phenomena in a solar chimney with particular attention to the turbine. This study was conducted using ANSYS FLUENT and FLUENT software to simulate the two-dimensional and three-dimensional models of a solar chimney power plant system, with and without a turbine. The simulation was performed for the geometry of prototype of Manzanares, Spain. Our numerical results are compared and validated with experimental and numerical work published. First, a numerical study of a solar chimney is conducted in order to highlight the characteristics of the system and to define the region where the speed of the flow canturn a turbine. We examined the effect air velocity at the collector inlet, and ambient temperature on the system. The temperature, velocity and pressure distributions in the system are analyzed. In order to find the best site to install a solar chimney in Algeria, oven areas are Chosen (Adrar, Tamanrasset, Ouargla and Constantine). The electrical power produced annually and monthly by the solar chimney for the four regions is estimated. In a second step, a numerical simulation in 3D of a solar chimney coupled with turbine was under taken. The turbine has been treated in two ways, either by adopting the fan model, or by coupling the solar chimney with a real turbine of four blades. In the first case, the detailed configuration of the turbine is not taken in to account, it has been treated as an infinitely thin disk. The effect of solar radiation and the pressure drop across the turbine on elements such as the temperature difference in the collector, the efficiency of the collector and the power of the system, is studied. In the second case, the influence of the rotation speed of the turbine on the velocity and the temperature of the flow at the exit of the chimney is examined. The electric power output and the efficiency of the turbine were also estimated.
