This thesis work presents the synthesis, the structural study by spectroscopic methods,
X-ray diffraction, magnetic and photoluminescent properties of new transition metal
complexes using the two ligands 2-(2-aminophenyl) benzimidazole (2-ampb) and 4-
(dimethylamino) pyridine (DMAP).
Five mono, di and polynuclear coordination complexes based on copper (II) and
cadmium (II) were obtained with 2- (2-aminophenyl) benzimidazole ligand:
* ([Cu(C13H11N3)(NO3)2(H2O)2].H2O), (I).
* ([Cu(C13H11N3) (Cl)2]2), (II).
* ([[Cu(C13H11N3)2(H2O)2]2+, 2Cl-]. H2O), (III).
* ([Cd(C13H11N3)2(NO3)2],CH3OH), (IV).
* [Cd2(C13H11N3)2(CH3COO)4]n, (V).
The study of their magnetic proprieties contributes to a better understanding of the
factors responsible for the nature and intensity of magnetic interactions.
With the 4-(dimethylamino) pyridine ligand, we have obtained three new mono and
polynuclear coordination complexes with cobalt (II) and zinc (II):

The main objective of this work was to synthesize original metal complexes of original tetradentate dianionic ligands of the type (O,E,E,O), with E = N or S with different steroelectronic properties and to examine the potential of these new complexes as radical initiators and control agents in organometallic-mediated radical polymerization (OMRP). The tetradentate dianionic scaffold of these ligands was shown to be a suitable environment for stabilizing transition metal complexes. Different coordination modes or ligand arrangements were observed depending on the nature of the donor atoms and stereoelectronic parameters of the ligands. A series of acetylacetonato complexes of cobalt(III) and iron(III) of tetradentate diamino-bis (phenolate) ligands was synthesized and characterized by mass spectrometry (ESI-MS), infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), elemental analysis (EA) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR: 1H and 13C{1H}). The molecular structure of all the complexes was confirmed in the solid-state by X-ray diffraction. These complexes are thermally stable, even in the presence of vinyl monomers, and unfortunately the “metal-acac” entity was not able to produce radicals under the thermal conditions investigated in this study. Another series of diamino- or dithioether-bis(phenolate) tetradentate ligands-supported CoII, FeIII and CuII complexes were synthesized, isolated and characterized. The test of polymerization of vinyl acetate, using the CoII complex as moderator, revealed a pseudo first-order kinetic plot, but the evolution of the molar mass with respect to the conversion showed the process to be not wellcontrolled.Note de contenu :

الحرارة العاليةIndex. décimale : 530 Physique Résumé : In this work, we studied the intergranular segregation of zircaloy 2 and zircaloy 4 alloy elements in zirconium on the basis of the first principles ab initio of quantum mechanics. Using the ABINIT computer code, we studied the bulk zirconium of hcp structure using the norm-conserved pseudopotentials with five approximations: two GGAs and three LDAs. The convergence and optimization results showed that the pseudopotentials GGA-PBE-HGH and GGA-PBE-TM are the optimal pseudopotentials allowing a good agreement with theoretical and experimental results. We have described the construction steps of the supercell containing the symmetric tilt grain boundary: Σ17 [θ=49.71°/[21�1�0],(03�37)] in the Zr. We calculated the total energies of the relaxed sup ercell to calculate the Sn segregation energies in the different sites near and far from the grain boundary. We have calculated the segregation energies of Fe, Cr and Ni atΣ17grain boundary. The calculation of the segregation energies shows that the segregation of Sn at the grain boundary sites is unfavorable, but it is favorable for the sites of the first plane parallel to the grain boundary plane. For the sites of the other plans, parallel to the grain boundary plane, the segregation is unfavorable. The segregation energiescalculation at Σ17 grain boundary for the Fe, Cr and Ni elements shows that the segregation is unfavorable for Fe and Ni, but it is favorable for the Cr. This leads to the enrichment of the boundary by chromium and the depletion of the bulk by this element and consequently to the degradation of the corrosion resistanc e pr operties. The oxidation kinetics of zircaloy 4 in the air was investigated experimentally by in situ x-ray diffraction at different temperatures, namely: 25, 350, 500, 830 and 1000 °C. The XRD spectrums show that the monoclinic and quadratic phases are formed at a temperature of 350 °C and their volume fractions increase with temperatur e tillKeywords: Intergranular segregation, ab initio calculation, DFT, zircaloy, transition metals, high temperature oxidation. to 1000 °C. In order to simulate the Loss of Coolant Accident (LOCA), we studied quenched Zry-4 samples after different aging times at 1050 °C. This quenching leads to the appearance of the "Widmanstätten" structure with poor mechanical properties. The analysis of the XRD spectrums and the microhardness curve show that the increase of the aging time from 10 seconds to 5 minutes leads to an increase in the volume fractions of the monoclinic and quadratic zirconia, accompanied by a rapid increase in the microhardness. After aging for 10 and 20 minutes, there is an appearance of chipping followed by severe cracks (br eak-away). The present work concerns the synthesis and structural, magnetic and biological characterization of two series of coordination complexes based on transition metals for the first and transition metals and lanthanides for the second with different schiff bases ligands. The reaction of 2-thiophenecarboxylic acid (L) with copper ions, has led to three structures including a monomer and two dimers with respective general formulas: [Cu (L)2], [Cu2(μ-Cl)2(HL)2Cl2], [Cu2 (μ-L)4 (L-méthyl ester)] ; HL : N'- (propan-2-ylidène) thiophène-2-carbohydrazide. While the reaction of the three enantiomers (R,R; S,S and R,S) of the Salen Sciff bases 2,2'-[[(1C*,2C*)-1,2-diphenyl-1,2-ethanediyl]-bis[(E)nitrilomethylidyne] bis[6-ethoxy], with lanthanide ions and Zn (ll) / Ni (ll) ions, leds to seven chiral hetero-bimetallic complexes with the formulas: C*,C*-[ZnLDy(m-OAc)(NO3)2], R,R-[ZnLYb(m-OAc)(NO3)2], C*,C*-[NiLDy(NO3)3] ; C*,C*: R-R, S-S, R-S; L: 2,2'-[[(1C*,2C*)-1,2-diphenyl-1,2-ethanediyl]bis[(E) nitrilomethylidyne] bis[6-ethoxy] The structural and physico-chemical properties of the compounds have been studied using several techniques : such as single crystal X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy, elementary analysis, ATG and magnetic measurements on squid. for the biological properties (antioxidant et anti-alzheimer), two compounds have a noticeable effect on the inhibition of free radicals ABTS or reduction of copper(II)-neocuproine [Cu (II) -Nc] CUPRAC, for inhibiting AChE, compound with di-μ-chloro bridged CuII was more effective than the reference medicine compound Galentamine. Magnetic measurements revealed that all of the products measured showed predominant antiferromagnetic interactions

and fluorescence study of new coordination complexes and hybrid compounds based on transition
metals using three aromatic ligands. Three complexes with 2-(2-
hydroxyethylpyridine) including two isostructural monomers and one-dimensional copper II
polymer. These compounds have a layered structure whose junction is ensured via hydrogen
bonds and π-π stacking. With the 2,2 ': 6', 2 '' - terpyridine ligand, two complexes were isolated.
The first is a copper II tetramer whose four metal ions have a square-based pyramidal geometry. It
is a layered structure where the junction is ensured via weak bonds and π-π stacking. The second
is a triprotoneted hybrid compound where the three-dimensional structure is assured by moderate
and weak hydrogen bonds. The two hybrid compounds obtained based on chlorine / bromine
tetraphenylphosphonium have a structure in cationic and anionic layers which alternate along the
c axe axis, the junction between them is ensured via hydrogen bonds and π-π stacking.
Fluorescence analysis showed that all complexes exhibited strong (blue, cyan, and green) light
emission, which are attributed to the charge transfer interaction π-π*; and a very high quantum
efficiency with a very high fluorescence brightness. These fluorescent materials can be employed
in photocatalysis as sensitizers in photovoltaic conversion processes and can be used in the
determination of mixtures of coloring materials.
