Many researchers suggest that teacher’s expectations can predict a change in students’ achievement and behaviour. This study discusses the Self-fulfilling prophecy, or the idea that one's expectations about a person can eventually lead that person to behave and achieve in ways that conform to those expectations. The present work aims at showing how teachers form expectations, how they communicate them and their impact on students’ achievement. This study is based on two questionnaires and two interviews administrated to both teachers and third year students to get information about the relationship between teachers’ expectations and students’ achievement. The educational setting in which this study took place is the Department of English at University “Des Frère Mentouri” – Constantine. The analysis of data shows that both learners and teachers are aware that the teacher is the most influential factor that impacts students’ achievement. difficulties faced by first-year master students of Applied Languages at the department of letters
and English Language at University des Fréres Mentouri-Constantine. In order to enhance
students level during translating legal terms, three hypotheses are made which are; if the
students have a rich background in Arabic-English legal terminology, they will produce more
accurate translation and if they learn and practice more in this field, it will be easy for them to
deal with such kind of translation, and last if they have enough awareness about the cultural
differences of both source and target legal system, they will be able to translate legal terms
correctly. To check out the validity of these hypotheses, two research tools are administered; a
questionnaire and a written translation test. The analysis of both tools suggests that the majority
of students face difficulties in translating legal terms from Arabic into English. It also confirms
their lack of Arabic-English legal terminology despite the fact that they are supposed to be
familiar with certain specificities of their culture. Finally, more practice in the legal field seems
to be necessary to enhance learners’ knowledge, in other words, the more students practice, the
better they will become .Translating a lot of texts that are relating to the field of law would help

It attempts to shed light on the main problems faced by third year students of English as a Foreign language at the Department of Letters and English at University Des frères Mentouri; and the reasons why they are incapable to find the right equivalent meaning of phrasal verbs in both languages and translate it correctly into Arabic.
The quantitative research data was collected by using a questionnaire that aims at having student’s opinion about phrasal verbs and investigating student’s difficulties in translating it. The same sample was concerned by a test composed of two exercises. The first aims to collect information about learner’s and their familiarity with phrasal verbs with the verb “to look” out of context. Whereas, the second exercise aims to show learner’s ability to understand and translate sentences bearing the same phrasal verbs into Arabic, in other words by using context.
