This study investigates the impact of effective classroom management plan on
students’ performance in speaking. Our research attempts explore the methods and
techniques that teachers’ use during an oral expression session, especially which
concerns classroom management. In addition to that, it focuses on the teachers’ role
in the classroom, and how they manage and provide appropriate, relaxed atmosphere
where students can learn and practice their language without difficulties. The setting
where the research is carried out is the Department of Letters and English Language
at Mentouri Brothers University, Constantine. We hypothesized that if a good
classroom management is applied effectively, then students would improve their oral
skills. Our research was carried through the use of two questionnaires addressed to
ten (10) Oral Expression teachers and seventy nine (79) Third year L.M.D students
chosen randomly. The results obtained from the analysis of the two questionnaires
have confirmed our hypothesis that teachers are not aware about some techniques and
methods that are essential in helping students’ practice and improve their oral skill. |
