It is carried out to investigate
Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) framework as a helpful method applied to make
students perform better orally. Our main objective is to investigate to what extent applying CLT
method can help students to develop their speaking skill. This study does not only aim at
examining the characteristics of Communicative Language Teaching framework, but also it
shows how it enhances the student’s oral skill as well. The basic hypothesis adopted in this study
sets out that if the Communicative Language Teaching Framework as an appropriate method is
applied in language class, students will develop their oral skill in a better way. The method used
in this study is descriptive. It aims to define the Communicative Language Teaching method as
an independent variable, and its role in enhancing the students’ speaking proficiency as a
dependent variable. To support the validity of this study, the data were gathered through two
questionnaires, the first one administrated to a sample of forty (40) second year L.M.D students
of English at Constantine 1 University, and the second to eleven (11) teachers who teach oral
expression at the Department of Letters and English Language at Constantine 1 University. The
results have shown that applying the Communicative Language Teaching method in oral
expression sessions helps learners to develop their speaking skill. Our hypothesis is confirmed:
teachers must apply CLT in language classes because it is the appropriate method for students to
develop better their oral proficiencyDiplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=6182 The application of communicative language teaching method to enhance students’ speaking skill : A case study of second year students of english at constantine 1 university [texte imprimé] / Roumeissa Hamames, Auteur ; Samir Laraba, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2015 . - 91 f. ; 30 cm.

Titre : The application of code switching in teaching english as a foreign language at middle school level (classroom discourse) : Case study of second year, middle school tahar zeghdoudi, guelma Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Samir Laraba, Directeur de thèse Editeur : CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine Année de publication : 2013 Importance : 86 f. Format : 30 cm. Note générale : Une copie électronique PDF disponible en BUC. Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : Language Sciences Application Switching Foreign Language Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : The current work aims at examining the application and the functionality of code switching among middle school teachers and students in the classroom discourse while teaching and learning English as a foreign language. The educational setting in which this study takes place is Tahar Zeghdoudi Middle School in Guelma. The qualitative data was achieved through a questionnaire and an interview survey. The sample of the study consisted of 40 middle school students, and 8 middle school teachers who were selected randomly. The findings of the study showed that, code switching is a common phenomenon in teaching and learning English as a foreign language. Switching from English into Arabic is mostly required in classrooms. Besides the necessity to facilitate the teaching and the learning process; it also saves time and efforts. Furthermore, the teachers should be accurate through switching, because any mistake may lead to misunderstanding or misinterpretation especially in English classrooms’ discourse. Also, code switching during EFL lessons sometimes occurs when student’s converse with their teachers about non-lesson related things. As an addition, students claimed that their teachers used code-switching when wanting order in the classroom and when explaining instructions again to those who did not understand when the instructions were given in the target language. Code switching in EFL classroom can help both teachers and students to utilize the maximum in both teaching and learning. So, the hypothesis is confirmed, i.e. with the application of code switching as a teaching technique, and as a learning strategy, the process of teaching will be facilitated and it will serve as a comprehension tool for learners. To deduce, this study recommends that similar studies should be conducted in other schools to obtain a clear and a complete picture of code switching (CS) its application and functions in school rooms. qu’offre le logiciel R dans le domaine de l’analyse de survie.
- 46 f. ; 30 cm.
