Résumé : |
Technology is known for being able to make learners react in a positive way in language
classrooms. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between students' use
of technology and their oral performance. The fundamental theory embraced in that work
involves that Technology motivates students and the different devices used improve their
fluency, accuracy and let them feel at ease and give them broad mastery over the language use
and speaking performance. To check our hypothesis that states that: “The more students use
information technology devices ,the better their oral performance” ,two research tools: a scale
and a speaking exam were administered for first year students in the Department of English at
Mentouri University of Constantine. The practical result of the research gives an analysis of
the data collected and an argumentation of the major outcomes. Furthermore, some
propositions and references were provided to help in realizing an effective application of
technology to present a comfortable environment and to improve the students' involvement in
the classroom.
