and their speaking performance in English as a foreign language (EFL Henceforth). Based
on the aspects investigated, a hypothesis was put: If teachers focus on the role of self-esteem and try
to motivate students in the classroom then, learners will develop their speaking abilities. The
research methodology adopted in this study is a descriptive one. It works on describing two
variables: Self-esteem as the presumed independent variable and English foreign language speaking
as the presumed dependent variable. To test our hypotheses, we carried out the investigation through
a questionnaire and an interview. The questionnaire is administered to a sample of 15“Oral
Expression” teachers from the Department of Letters and English Language at the University of
Brothers Mentouri, Constantine. The interview is handled to a sample of 40 third year L.M.D
students from the same Department at Brothers Mentouri University –Constantine. Most of the
results of the analysis have shown that there is, somehow, congruence between students’ beliefs and
their speaking achievementDiplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=6272 The effect of focusing on students’ self-esteem to develop their speaking performance : A case of third year lmd students of english in the department of letters and english language at the university of brothers mentouri, constantine [texte imprimé] / Nousseiba Mihoub, Auteur ; Narimene Zitouni, Auteur ; Hadjer Bellout, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2015 . - 108 f. ; 30 cm.

Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : Speaking Performance English is the language of the world. Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : Nowadays, English is the language of the world. For this reason, learning it is
essential in order to fullfill the needs in almost all fields. Yet, speaking in a language
is a challenging task due to its complicacy as a skill and the effect of the
psychological factors mainly, anxiety, shyness, low self-esteem and lack of
motivation on it. The present work aims at invistigating the effect of the psychological
factors on English as foreign language students’ speaking performance. We choose
to carry on this work with second year (LMD) students of English, in the Departement
of Letters and English, Faculty of Letters and Languages, Frères Mentouri University,
Constantine 1. The objective of this research is to show the negative impact of the
psychological factors on English as foreign language students oral performance as
well as to provide some activities and strategies through which we can solve this
problem. This leads us to hypothesise that if we overcome these psychological
factors, English as foreign language students’ speaking performance will be
improved. The study is based on two questionnaires: one designed for students and
other for teachers. Concerning the latter, we could not administer it due to the
pandemic (COVID-19). The purpose of the questionnaires is to gather information
about students’ and teachers’ perceptions about the psycholigical factors affecting
students’ oral performance. The analysis of the information gathered from the
questionnaire reveals that the psychological factors mainly anxiety, shyness, low selfconfidence, and lack of motivation hinder English as foreign language students from
performing orally in a good way. Moreover, minimizing their effect would improve
their speaking skill. Therefore, the gathered data support our hypothesis and confirm
it.Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=13524 The Effect of the Psychological Factors on English as Foreign Language Students’ Speaking Performance Case study: Second Year Students in Frères Mentouri University, Constantine 1 [texte imprimé] / Hicham Abderrahman Ouskourt, Auteur ; Meriem Lebsir, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2020 . - 110 f. ; 30cm.

Out-of-Class Speaking Activities Speaking Performance Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : the present study we attempt to investigate the role of the-out-of-class
speaking activities in enhancing the students speaking performance. The main
concern of the study is second year students’ failure in conversations because of their
poor oral performance which is a result of several problems in the classroom that
leads them to create their own out-of-class speaking activities.
The hypothesis of this dissertation is: When students use more out-of-class
speaking activities, they may take advantages of the possibility of communication
offered by these activities and yet gain new vocabulary and grammar structures to be
used in classroom communication.
The research methodology adopted is descriptive. So, to identify the
relationship between the two variables of this study (out-of-class speaking activities
and the speaking skill), data were gathered through students’ questionnaire given to
50 of second year students at the department of English.
The results obtained show that the out-of-class speaking activities have a
positive impact on improving students speaking performance including (vocabulary,
grammar, pronunciation and fluency). Another important obtained result that has to be
mentioned is that most students show a sense of automaticity toward using these
activities, and they are not using them because they have difficulties when they try to
communicate in classroom situation.Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=4820 The impact of out-of-class speaking activities on efl learners’ speaking performance : The case study of second year students of english at university des frères mentouri [texte imprimé] / Saadia Zergainoh, Auteur ; Saida Kouachi, Auteur ; Ali Ghiat, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2017 . - 88 f. ; 30 cm.

classrooms. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between students' use
of technology and their oral performance. The fundamental theory embraced in that work
involves that Technology motivates students and the different devices used improve their
fluency, accuracy and let them feel at ease and give them broad mastery over the language use
and speaking performance. To check our hypothesis that states that: “The more students use
information technology devices ,the better their oral performance” ,two research tools: a scale
and a speaking exam were administered for first year students in the Department of English at
Mentouri University of Constantine. The practical result of the research gives an analysis of
the data collected and an argumentation of the major outcomes. Furthermore, some
propositions and references were provided to help in realizing an effective application of
technology to present a comfortable environment and to improve the students' involvement in
the classroom.

improve their speaking performance, intrinsic motivation can be an effective factor in
increasing their speaking ability. Therefore, the present study aims at investigating the
impact of intrinsic motivation on students’ speaking proficiency but also the relationship
between them. To examine our hypothesis which states that if 3rd year students are
intrinsically motivated, they would show better oral performance, two questionnaires are
administered to both students and teachers at the English department, University of Mentouri
Constantine. The students’ questionnaire is given to a sample of 25 students from a
population of 393 students to determine students’ perception of intrinsic motivation in terms
of needs and strategies which can help to improve speaking skills. The teachers’
questionnaire is given to 12 teachers of Oral Expression in order to explore teachers’
motivational strategies during their lectures in order to improve students’ speaking
proficiency. The analysis and interpretation of the results lead us to the conclusion that
intrinsic motivation is a crucial element in the improvement and the development of oral
performance, thus confirming our hypothesis.Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=11568 The Role of Intrinsic Motivation In Developing Students’ Speaking Skill The Case Of Third Year LMD Students At “Frère Mentouri” University, Constantine [texte imprimé] / Nourhane Derrouiche, Auteur ; Hacene SAADI, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2019 . - 97 f. ; 30cm.
