Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : The two concepts of learning styles preferences and speaking anxiety have been
widely discussed in the last decades. Different studies were carried out to shed
light on their impact on the learning and teaching settings and few of them were
conducted to join the two variables in one research together. The present
correlational study was conducted to determine the relationship between these
two variables; whether or not students' personal style has a relationship with
their state of anxiety while speaking English . In order to test our hypothesis
which predicts that there would be a relation between the two ( 2) variables
and answer our questions that investigate whether there is a link between them
or not and if it exists what type of it, a quantitative correlational research design
was conducted with a sample of 25 participants that have been randomly
selected from 124 master 1 students in the department of English at
Constantine 1 University. The tools used to collect the necessary data are two (
2) scales that were administered to master 1 students; the first scale is an
adaptation of the FLCAS (Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale )
designed by Horwitz in 1986 with 15 modified items .Its reliability has been
tested and yielded a cronbach Alpha of .82 using the IBM SPSS, version
20.The second scale deals with the students' dominant learning style; the VAK
(Visual, Auditory, or Kinesthetic) learning styles scale with 18 items. Its
reliability also indicates an alpha coefficient of .81 using the same
V
application . The obtained results were analyzed quantitatively. Findings from
this study indicate that there is no relationship between students' personal style
and their levels of speaking anxiety.Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=12555 A Correlational Study between Students' Speaking Anxiety and their Learning Style The Case of Master One Students of English at the University of Mentouri Brothers/ Constantine 1 [texte imprimé] / Maroua Gasmi, Auteur ; Nassima Berkani, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2019 . - 82 f. ; 30cm.

Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : The present research seeks to investigate and explore EFL students’ difficulties and strategy use
in listening comprehension. Also, to examine the attitudes of first year students of English in the
department of English at Frères Mentouri Constantine University. It was divided into two
chapters. The first one is devoted to the literary review, where it deals with the difficulties faced
by the students as well as the strategies they use to enhance their listening achievement. The
research questions were, First, what major difficulties that first year EFL students face in
listening comprehension are. The second question was, do first year EFL students use any
strategies so as to enhance their performance in listening comprehension? It has been
hypothesized that EFL learners may encounter difficulties associated with speech rate, lack of
background knowledge of the target language, and short term-memory. And, they may use
different kinds of strategies in order to enhance their achievement in listening comprehension. To
check for the validity of the settled hyotheses, a questionnaire was administered to first- year
EFL learners. After analyzing the data quantitatively and qualitatively the main results clearly
demonstrated that listening is the most difficult and complex skill to students. The obtained
results revealed that learners face some obstacles as well, related to: speech rate, memory
limitation, lack of prior knowledge and other difficulties. Furthermore, listening is far more
complicated, which necessitates the utilization of appropriate strategies in order to ameliorate the
learners’ achievement. However, The learners use some strategies but they still have difficulties.
Consequently, this confirms the hypotheses that have been formulated previouslyDiplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=15346 Exploring Listening Comprehension Difficulties And Strategies The Case Of First-Year Efl Students At Frères Mentouri, Constantine University [texte imprimé] / Yahia Dib, Auteur ; Nassima Berkani, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2021 . - 83 f. ; 30 cm.

students comprehend better either the spoken American or the spoken British
English, while they are using the Audio Visual Materials such as: Videos. We
hypothesized that our students master the comprehension of spoken American
and British English. In the goal to test the validity of the hypothesis, we selected
19 first year LMD students randomly from the Department of English at the
University Mentouri, Constantine. For this research, we have used 2 tests to
gather data. Results have proved that a higher number of students master better
the comprehension of spoken American English rather than the spoken British
English probably due to its broadcasting news and movies influence on their
social life.Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=15801 Exploring Students’ Mastery of the Comprehension of the Spoken American and British English while using Audio Visual Materials [texte imprimé] / Ghada Rassoul, Auteur ; Nassima Berkani, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2021 . - 55 f. ; 30 cm.

Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : American Accents Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : The purpose of this work is to explore the students’ code-mixing of the British and
American accents. In order to carry out the present study, fifteen (15) first year students of
English at Frères Mentouri Constantine 1University were chosen as a sample. The
students were previously recorded while taking their oral examination in the year
We hypothesize that EFL students in the department of English at the University of
Frères Mentouri Constantine 1 code-mix both the American and British Varieties. To test
the validity of the hypothesis, we selected 15 first year students randomly among a
number of recordings that were made available for us.
The recordings were analyzed to check the presence of features of British and
American English in the speech of the students with focus on rhoticity, the production of
the lot vowel and that of the /t/ sound. The obtained results were analyzed quantitatively.
Findings from this study indicate that the students code-mix the two accents and this
confirms our hypothesis. The findings also show a predominance of American accent featuresDiplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=15882 Investigating EFL Students’ Code-mixing of the British and American Accents The Case of First Year Students at Frères Mentouri University [texte imprimé] / Ikram Lina Hammouda, Auteur ; Nassima Berkani, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2021 . - 82 f. ; 30 cm.

Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : The present dissertation is composed of two main chapters. The first one is concerned with
the theoretical part which presents general concepts about intonation. The second one is
devoted to the practical part which considers the description and the analysis of the obtained
results. The research seeks to shed some light on investigating the relationship between
students’ ability to perceive and produce meaning using intonation. In order to test our
hypothesis that said: students who are good at perceiving meaning using intonation would be
good at producing meaning using intonation. For this purpose 21 subjects of first year master
students of applied languages at Mentouri University, Constantine 1, have been chosen to
answer and record the listening and the speaking tests in order to investigate the relationship
between the two (2) variables. The results have shown that there is no relationship between
students’ ability to perceive and produce meaning using intonationDiplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=13880 Investigating the Relationship between Students’ Ability to Perceive and Produce Meaning Using Intonation The Case of First Year Master Students of Applied Languages at Mentouri University, Constantine [texte imprimé] / Amina Lebchiche, Auteur ; Nassima Berkani, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2020 . - 77 f. ; 30cm.
