It also sheds some light on the students’ reading habits: their self-statement, their self- evaluation and all the behaviors they adopt when practicing extensive reading including the strategies they deploy to overcome their reading problems. The hypothesis of this research stipulates, if Third Year English students at Mentouri University Constantine 1 practice regularly extensive reading they will expand their vocabulary size. In order to confirm our hypothesis we have administered two questionnaires: one to a random selected sample of students’ adherents at the American corner at Mentouri University of Constantine, and the other to random sample of third year English students of “Language Science” at Mentouri University of Constantine. The American Corner Adherents sample has served as prototypical in our study. Both questionnaires have been analyzed and compared and the obtained results demonstrate that both samples are aware of the importance and effective role Extensive Reading has on vocabulary storage. Eventually, some pedagogical recommendations are given for the teaching of extensive reading as respected discipline bearing high status in English Language Teaching program Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=6159 The impact of extensive reading on enhancing vocabulary storage : A case of comparative study third year students of english and american corner adherents at mentouri university of constantine [texte imprimé] / Ouided Bouznada, Auteur ; Farida Sebais, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2015 . - 122 f. ; 30 cm.

journal.Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : Teachers of English as a foreign language are in a constant search of what may help their learners
to enhance their level in reading, to get deep comprehension of what is read. The Reading response
journal as a reading strategy, is playing an important role in enhancing the reading skills in general,
and developing learners’ extensive reading in a particular . To enhance EFL learners’ reading
comprehension, the reading response journal that is used can be activated via the extensive reading.
Thus, both teachers and learners need to be focused to use and apply such several strategies of
course in attempt to attain a successful reading process. This research work is an attempt to shed
light on the role of Reading response journal in developing the extensive reading of EFL learners
.To answer the research question, it was hypothesized that if EFL learners were given instruction on
how to apply the reading response journal strategy and use their reactions and feelings after ,or
during reading process then their extensive reading would be enhanced and motivated .To reach
this aim, two questionnaires were relied on as means of research. , the target population of this
study is EFL Students. Two questionnaires were administered to both teachers and Second Year
EFL students of the at the ENS “Assia Djebbar” of Constantine. The learners’ questionnaire aimed
at investigating whether learners are enjoying reading in general, and their reactions toward both
Reading response journal and Extensive Reading strategies. Teachers’ questionnaire, however,
investigated teachers ‘use and awareness towards the application of the Reading response journal in
order to develop Extensive Reading of EFL learners. On the light of the research findings, some
pedagogical implications and recommendations for further investigations in which adding another
questionnaire to teachers as well as conducting the study with a larger population and longer time
are listed.Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=15397 THE READING RESPONSE JOURNAL ROLE IN DEVELOPING EFL LEARNRS’ EXTENSIVE READING The Case of Second Year EFL Students at the ENS “Assia Djebbar”, Constantine [texte imprimé] / Amina Benarab, Auteur ; Radia Bouguebs, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2021 . - 69 f. ; 30 cm.

Titre : The role of extensive reading in acquiring new vocabulary : The case of second year lmd students of english university of constantine 1 Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Esma Meziani, Auteur ; Hadjer Torchi, Auteur ; Ahmed Moumene, Directeur de thèse Editeur : CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine Année de publication : 2014 Importance : 92 f. Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : language Sciences EXTENSIVE READING ACQUIRING New Vocabulary Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : The present study attempts to investigate the relationship that exists between extensive
reading and vocabulary development. It is true that acquiring speaking and listening skills
is important to keep pace with this era of globalization. However, In Constantine
University 1, where time spent learning English is limited, development of reading ability
should be given priority. In fact, reading extensively in the target language develops
learners’ vocabulary repertoire. In this research, we aim to shed some light on the
importance of both extensive reading and learning vocabulary and to gain some insights
into students' and teachers' awareness about these crucial concepts. We believe that
extensive reading strategy is very important and it should be the first concern while
building vocabulary knowledge. The hypothesis investigated in this study assumes that the
use of extensive reading process enhances the learners' lexical size. To examine the
validity of the hypothesis, we made use of two questionnaires administered to a sample of
25 teachers and 50 students in the English department, University of Constantine 1. The
findings obtained in this study validated the hypothesis in that the use of extensive reading
develops learners' vocabulary. Results showed that extensive reading can enhance
vocabulary acquisition both incidentally and when incorporated in vocabulary
enhancement activities.Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=5880 The role of extensive reading in acquiring new vocabulary : The case of second year lmd students of english university of constantine 1 [texte imprimé] / Esma Meziani, Auteur ; Hadjer Torchi, Auteur ; Ahmed Moumene, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2014 . - 92 f. ; 30 cm.

Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : Language Sciences Extensive Reading Students’Writing Skill Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : Among the most important and the most complex activities is writing in a foreign
language. Students have always faced great challenges and difficulties in developing this
skill. And in many occasions, they have failed in producing an acceptable written form.
Written expression requires intensive effort and continuous practice by the student. This
study aims at investigating the role extensive reading in enhancing students' writing skills.
In this respect, the researchers advanced the hypothesis that if students extensively read in
a regular way; this would contribute to the improvement of their writing skills. This study
used descriptive research methodology to collect information. We handed in two
questionnaires, one for third year students of English at the University of Frères Mentouri
in Constantine and another was directed to written expression teachers at the same
university. The results obtained from the analysis of the two questionnaires, have shown
that both students and teachers are aware of the significant role and the effectiveness of
extensive reading on the development and improvement of the learners’ writing skill. Such
results bear out the research hypothesisDiplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=4504 The role of extensive reading in enhancing students’ writing skill : The case of third year students of english university des frères mentouri, constantine [texte imprimé] / Nada Abbas, Auteur ; Asma Abdallah, Auteur ; Nora Boudehane, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2017 . - 80 f. ; 30 cm.
