Titre : Games to speedup and facilitate learning english for middle school learners : The case of 2ndyear pupils at ahmed mentouri middle school in constantine Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Houria Bareche, Auteur ; Kenza Chettab, Auteur ; Nacif Labed, Directeur de thèse Editeur : CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine Année de publication : 2013 Importance : 75 f. Format : 30 cm. Note générale : Une copie électronique PDF disponible en BUC. The research purpose is to investigate whether games influence their learning. In view of this, we hypothesized that if second year middle school teachers use games to explain lessons, they will facilitate and speed up the learning of English for their pupils and help them achieve better results. For conducting our experiments we used, as research tools, a teachers’ questionnaire and a test to second year middle school learners and of Ahmed Mentouri Middle School in Constantine. The results from the teachers’ questionnaire and the test provided us with a clear idea about the learners’ ability of not being able to understand the meaning of words, and about the teachers’ opinion about the important role of games in facilitating the pupil’s learning. The analysis of the data of both the questionnaire and the test allowed us to understand that using games helps in speeding up and in facilitating learning English because of its great influence on learners’ achievements. According to such results; we can say that our hypothesis has been to a large extent confirmed. Titre : The impact of extrinsic motivation on learning english as foreign language : The case of the first-year students at the university of constantine -1- Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Hanane Gueham, Auteur ; Larbi El-kolli, Directeur de thèse Editeur : CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine Année de publication : 2013 Importance : 95 f. Format : 30 cm. Note générale : Une copie électronique PDF disponible en BUC. Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : Language Sciences Extrinsic Motivation Learning English Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : The present study aims to explore the effects of external factors in enhancing students’
motivation to learn English as a second or a foreign language. It attempts to examine the
factors that should be studied and which can really motivate learners at the University of
Constantine -1-for example; parent. Parental rewards, such as money and gifts .The teacher,.
In addition to that, the influence of the social status and living conditions in the learners
abilities to learn, the role of siblings, The research data were gathered through self-completion
questionnaires administered to the first-year students and to teachers who have taught English
at the department of English language at the University of Constantine -1- .The results
obtained have shown that external factors are considered as important incentives in learning a
second language. On the basis of these results, the hypothesis was confirmed because;
students need to be provided with some external incentives to develop the language skills
needed, and to create suitable situations where they can use language without hesitation. This
study has certainly its limitations, but its findings revealed interesting implications.
Eventually, this study aims at suggesting to teachers some strategies to be taken into account,
which are the use of some external incentives in order, motivate students to acquire the
language under study.Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=6790 The impact of extrinsic motivation on learning english as foreign language : The case of the first-year students at the university of constantine -1- [texte imprimé] / Hanane Gueham, Auteur ; Larbi El-kolli, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2013 . - 95 f. ; 30 cm.

Titre : The influence of french vocabulary on learning english : Case study: first year students of english , university of constantine1 Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Faiza Ahlem Hachichi, Auteur ; Ahmed Moumene, Directeur de thèse Editeur : CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine Année de publication : 2013 Importance : 79 f. Format : 30 cm. Note générale : Une copie électronique PDF disponible en BUC. Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : Language Sciences FRENCH VOCABULARY LEARNING ENGLISH Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : The present study investigates the process of words borrowing from French into English. It examines the students‟ awareness of the existence of false friends. To assess the hypothesis of this study which postulates that if students are aware of the existence of false friends, they would improve their learning of English as a foreign language .It aims at highlighting the result of the similar items in both languages, i.e., finding out the extent of the anomalies that result from the concept of false friends. We used two means of research, a student' questionnaire and a test administered to a sample of 50 first-year students at the department of letters and English language at the University of Constantine1. After the treatment of the observed errors, the results reveal that almost all the students fall in the problem of negative language transfer from French into English. In addition, most of them are not aware of the existence of cognate words. This negative transfer is likely to occur and affect the students' learning process. On the basis of the results obtained some recommendations are suggested to students to handle such a problem. Languages False Friends French-English Learning EnglishIndex. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : This research aims at investigating a significant area of translation where negative
transfer takes place, which are cognates and false friends. It sheds light on the
difficulties that students face in performing in English because of translating from
French into English. We hypothesize that if students had background knowledge
about the phenomenon of false friends, they would avoid making negative transfer
and, they would be able to improve their translating from French into English as a
means to perform in English. To check the validity of this hypothesis, a questionnaire
and a test are administered to a sample of first year Master students at the Department
of Letters and English Language, Mentouri, Constantine 1. The results show that the
majority of the students are not aware enough of false friends, and they do not pay
attention to the similarities and differences and how they can be used successfully. In
addition to that they are not able to give the right equivalents of the French words
given in the questionnaire and the test. On the basis of the results obtained, we
recommend that teachers give more importance to false friends in their teaching and
raise the consciousness of students about this problem so that they can avoid falling
easily in the trap of similarities across French and English which do not always
facilitate learning.Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=4355 The problem of french-english false friends in learning english : The case of master 1(applied linguistics) students of english at the department of Letters and English language, University of Mentouri Constantine1 [texte imprimé] / Cherifa Bounab, Auteur ; Fatima Zahra Aliouche, Auteur ; Youcef Beghoul, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2017 . - 51 f. ; 30 cm.
