Résumé : |
The utilization of technology has no doubt, created positive impacts on our life. It accelerates information transfer, enables quicker processes, as well as creates an enjoyable and, fun learning atmosphere. However, with the invention of technology such as the computer, the video camera, and the internet, learning is no longer a linear method. It is used to enhance students’ interest and involvement in the learning method. Technology is believed to be able to make students respond positively in a language classroom. Therefore, this analysis work highlights the important role of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in enhancing EFL learners’ oral language proficiency. Firstly, this work offers a general overview on ICT and the speaking skill. It provides a theoretical description of the integration of ICT as a new tool for education that is utilized in EFL classes. It hypothesizes that, with ICT integration, students’ speaking ability will be improved and consequently they will be interested in learning the oral production module. Hence, they will be competent speakers of the target language. To check the validity of this hypothesis, two research tools: an interview for teachers, and a questionnaire for third year English students at Frères Mentouri University of Constantine were used to investigate this subject. The practical part of the study provides an analysis of the data collected and a discussion of the main results which have shown the significance of ICT’s role in oral production classes. Moreover, some suggestions and recommendations are made to help in achieving a successful implementation of ICT in order to offer a relaxing atmosphere and to develop the students’ participation in the classroom. |
