This work consists of the simulation of the behavior of the soil-structure interaction, using the spectral element method (SEM). First, we analyzed the static interaction between a beam and a stratified soil using a two-parameter elastic foundation with the finite element method. The behavior of the ground medium and of the beam is supposed to be linear, homogeneous and isotropic. Using the strain energy expressions, the shear strains of the beam element and the subgrade are taken into account. In this approach, the stiffness matrix of each component is developed and integrated into the finite element analysis. Several examples are treated to show the effectiveness of the proposed approach and the capacity of the digital program developed. Then, a parametric study is carried out to highlight the influence of the mechanical properties of the soil on the soil-beam contact interface and on the responses of the beam, the effect of the depth of the soil, of the ballast layer on the response of the interface and of the beam itself. Second, we made an analysis of the soil-structure interaction by the spectral element method. We used the Finite Element Method (FEM) too, but only to prove the robustness of the SEM. The numerical results show that the convergence of the SEM is very fast compared to that of the FEM. The resolution of the problem with the eigenvalues is made, the natural frequencies are tabulated for the first three modes of vibration. A modal analysis with and without elastic medium is realised. We established a parametric study to investigate the behavior of the concrete beam on an elastic foundation, the effect of the length of the beam, the effect of soil properties and the influence of non-classical boundary conditions. Finally, we have shown that the dynamic response of the beam on an elastic foundation is highly affected by the contribution of rotational springs.
Various results are obtained and commented.

motor (VRM) adapted to the process of optimizing its performance we have developed and
tested. Knowing that the performance of VRM depends as well on the geometric structure, the
nonlinear characteristics of the materials used and the converter control parameters, we
therefore paid particular attention to the associated mathematical model, based on an
analytical approach taking into account the peculiarity of the VRM run in saturated state.
Despite the accuracy of numerical approaches such as finite element method,
researchers are moving increasingly towards hybrid methods combining their analytical
models as better suited to an optimization process; this is the approach we have adopted here.
Thus we have oriented our work towards finding hybrid models (analytical- numerical)
sufficiently accurate while being rapid execution. The validation of these models was made
by comparing the results obtained and the numerical simulations by finite elements in Flux-
2D.
Validation and exploitation of results of different simulations allowed the continuation
of work to optimize the geometric parameters for stator and rotor teeth of the studied
prototype. After state of the art different algorithms of optimizations present in the literature,
our choice fell on Genetic Algorithms and Swarm particles. The various simulations in
MATLAB environment allowed get optimized dental angles and significantly improve the
average couple.

In a first phase, the electrical characteristics can be calculated and explored by a optical study consecrated to explore the optical properties of these cells such as the absorption coefficient and the generation rate that govern the absorption properties of the solar cell and based on the latter coefficients in conjunction of the experimental data, we calculated the charge carriers motilities into the active layer. In the second phase, we made another study on the effect of the electric charges recombination into the active layer (P3HT:PCBM) in order to know the probability of the carriers of the charges recombination in vicinity of the donor / acceptor interface for each studied micro device, everything was done by the solar cell simulator (Comsol Multiphysics) that based on the finite element method. The final phase is consecrated for the comparison of our new obtained results with both numerical and experimental approaches provided by the literature in order to validate our proposed approach.

Tubular steel structures are widely used in the construction of offshore platforms; several types of junctions are used in this field. The tubular members are assembled by welding, thus forming complex brace/chord intersections which represent structural discontinuities leading to high stress concentration in the vicinity of the weld bead. These joints are subjected to repeated loading over time leading to fatigue damage, hence the need to predict stresses around welded intersections. It is with this in mind that a numerical modeling of the mechanical behavior was carried out using two software programs ANSYS, and COMSOLMULTIPHYSICS. A numerical modeling in 2D with thin Shell elements and 3D with 20 Nodes solid elements was carried out by applying three basic loadings axial loading AX, in-plane bending “IPB”, out-of-plane bending “OPB” and a combined loading COM, aiming to predict the concentrations of stresses around the weld bead area. The results obtained show that for the three types of loadings AX, OPB and COM; the maximum stresses are located at saddle point However, for IPB loading they are located in a position between the two crown and saddle points. A parametric study was also performed to analyze the effect of the dimensionless geometric parameters α, , , β, . The results of SCf are validated by the parametric equations.
