The phytochemical study of the chloroform extract, of aerial parts of Crysanthemum segetum has allowed us to isolate and identify seven compounds, three polyacetylenes, a flavonoid, two sterols and an aromatic ester. Six of them were isolated for the first time from this species.
Analysis of ethyl acetate and n-butanol extracts of Chrysanthemum segetum by the UHPLCMS technique enabled us to propose the molecular structures of twenty-seven phenolic compounds present in these extracts, the major part of these compounds are flavonoids and coumarins.
In the phytochemical study of ethyl acetate and n-butanol extracts of Limonium pruinosum species, five compounds were identified: two flavonoids, an aromatic ester, a cyclitol and a methylglucoside. These compounds have been described for the first time in this species.
The structures of the compounds have been elucidated mainly by the use of spectroscopic techniques, NMR 1-D and 2-D, UV-Vis, mass spectrometry and comparison with literature data.
In the biological part of our work, the antioxidant capacity of ethyl acetate extract and the flavonoids isolated of Limonium pruinosum species was evaluated in vitro by DPPH test, the ethyl acetate extract showed an interesting antioxidant activity compared to standard.
The antioxidant activities of crude extracts of Chrysanthemum segetum species were evaluated by using two methods, DPPH radical scavenging activity and the CUPRAC method, the results showed that the ethyl acetate extract had the highest activity compared to the other extracts tested.Diplôme : Doctorat en sciences En ligne : ../theses/chimie/KEN7010.pdf Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=10378 Etude phytochimique et biologique des espèces Chrysanthemum segetum L. To the best of our knowledge this species has never been studied before. This reason and the endemism of this rare species encouraged us to undertake this work in which we also reported the chemical composition of the essential oil of its aerial parts performed by GC and GC/MS analyses.
Our experimentation allowed the separation and purification of 23 compounds through the use of various chromatographic techniques (CCM, CC). All these structures have been elucidated by the combination of spectroscopic methods mainly:
(UV-Vis), 1D NMR (1H, 13C, DEPT), and 2D NMR (COSY, HSQC, HMBC, NOESY), We also used high resolution mass spectrometry methods (HR-EI-MS and HR-ESI-MS) and comparison with literature data. Among the isolated compounds, 13 coumarins from which 5 were new, 4 flavonoids, 2 steroids, 3 phenolic compounds
and 1 reduced sugar.
In addition, a biological valorization consisting in the evaluation of the antioxidant activity was carried out on the n-BuOH extract of the aerial parts of Pituranthos battandieri Maire. This study showed that this species has a biological efficiency. In this study we also carried out an antibacterial assay against some pathogenic organisms, the microbiological results showed that this butanolic extract did not show antibacterial activity.
The GC-FID and GC/MS analyses of the essential oil of Pituranthos battandieri Maire showed that this oil is mainly composed of myrcene (8.9%), α- phellandrene (17.5%), α-terpinene (14%), o-cymene (11.6%), β-phellandrene (3.5%), cis-linalol oxide (furanide) (5.9%) and trans-β-caryophyllene (3.4%).

The phytochemical investigation of chloroform, ethyl acetate and n-butanol extracts from the aerial parts of W. saharae allowed the isolation and identification of 13 products belonging to several classes of secondary metabolites (sterols, coumarins, flavonoids and dicaffeoylquinic acid) isolated for the first time from this species excepted one flavonoid (hispidulin). The nbutanol extract of P. laevigata allowed the isolation and identification of 4 flavonoids glycosides. The structural elucidation of the isolated compounds was carried out by combining the various spectroscopic methods (UV, 1D & 2D NMR, ESIMS), acid hydrolysis as well as by comparing the results with the literature data.
The antioxidant activity of the EtOAc extract of W. saharae was evaluated by the free radical
scavenging method (DPPH) and the inhibition of lipid peroxidation (LPO). The EtOAc extract exhibited a strong effect with the IC50 value )6,90 ± 8,0 µg/ml( compared to the standard ) 3, 5 µ 8,21 μg/ml) and the inhibition of lipid peroxidation ) 2 ,9 µ8,6 ± g/ml(. The quantification of the total polyphenols and total flavonoids of the EtOAc and n-BuOH extracts of P. laevigata was performed by colorimetric methods. This step showed a content of polyphenols and flavonoids more important in the n-butanol extract. The antioxidant activity was evaluated by the free radical scavenging method (DPPH). The n-BuOH extract exhibited the strongest effect with the IC50 value 5,9 μg/ml comparatively with ascorbic acid used as standard IC50 (IC50 = 4,65 μg/ml) utilisé comme.
The analysis of essential oil of leaves and flowers of W. saharae by the GC/MS technique, showed a different chemical composition when compared with author works. are described for the first time. De même, the analysis of the essential oil of the aerial parts of P. laevigata by GC/MS, showed a different chemical composition.
