Translation is one of the broadest and deepest aspects in the field of linguistics. Among the issues which disturb both translators and experts of linguistic studies is poetry which is considered as a debatable topic in the domain of translation; some say poetry is translatable, others say it is not. This is mainly because of the beauty of its language which is given to gifted people only. That is, in translating poetry, equivalence can be reached in terms of content but not in terms of aesthetics. In the present study, pieces of poems and songs of English free verse have been given to a sample of students of English for translation. The aim behind that was to examine the students‘ awareness of the specificities of poetry. The findings have proved the students‘ inability to convert both form and content from one language into another in the domain of poetry. Titre : Teaching communication between speaking and listening skills. : The case study of first-year students of english, university of constantine Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Amira Cherouana, Auteur ; Hadjer Derouiche, Auteur ; Salah Kaouache, Directeur de thèse Editeur : CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine Année de publication : 2011 Importance : 78 f. Format : 30 cm. Note générale : Une copie électronique PDF disponible en BUC. Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : Applied Linguistics Communication Speaking Listening Skills Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : The aim of this research project is to identify some of the difficulties specific to the
process of the teaching of the aural / oral skills, and to propose some adequate
approaches to develop genuine communication. It also aims at analyzing the official
curriculum of the first year university students to find out whether there are defects in
it or not. A survey for the prevailing theories in this domain appears necessary as a
framework and as a reference in order to have a measure of the current practice in
relation to the officially prescribed objectives to the course. The second chapter, the
investigation was led through questionnaires to build up an expression of some
learners and teachers difficulties in the oral expression module and some of their
needs at least in their first-year University and to specify the tools to be used by
teachers. The two questionnaires allowed the study to design realistic activities
seriously based on the available human and material means. The analysis obtained of
this questionnaire allows us to make some remarks which are supposed to appear in
details on the last chapter. It is hoped that this study would be beneficial to the future
teachers of the ‘‘Oral Expression’’ module in that it would provide them with some
appropriate approaches and methods to help first-year University English students
develop the listening as well as the speaking skills, and to give them the opportunity
to use the spoken language from their first year. The research’s wish is to arouse a
revival of interest within teachers of English Oral Expression module by offering
them a description of some of the ways that may help a student’s performance in
speaking a foreign language.Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=5798 Teaching communication between speaking and listening skills. : The case study of first-year students of english, university of constantine [texte imprimé] / Amira Cherouana, Auteur ; Hadjer Derouiche, Auteur ; Salah Kaouache, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2011 . - 78 f. ; 30 cm.

Titre : The impact of linguistic insecurity and linguistic incompetence on efl learners : The case of second year english students at the university of frères mentouri - constantine Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Oum kelthoum Zouari, Auteur ; Roukia Oultache, Auteur ; Salah Kaouache, Directeur de thèse Editeur : CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine Année de publication : 2015 Importance : 57 f. Format : 30 cm. Note générale : Une copie électronique PDF disponible en BUC. Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : Applied Languages Linguistic Insecurity Incompetence Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : Linguistic insecurity is an important issue for most foreign language learners, which hinders the learning process. The present study aims to investigate the difficulties that second year EFL learners at Frères Mentouri University face in oral classrooms. It attempts to suggest some solutions and strategies to mitigate the learners‟ insecurity. To achieve this aim, it has been hypothesised that if the causes of linguistic insecurity were pinpointed and the level of anxiety, shyness and lack of confidence that EFL students face were reduced, their oral performance would be enhanced. To check the validity of the stated hypothesis, a questionnaire has been administrated to a random sample of second year students of English as a foreign language at Frères Mentouri University. The obtained results have revealed that EFL learners face many difficulties when speaking such as anxiety, lack of confidence, some incorrect pronunciation and ungrammaticality. The research work ends up by suggesting a set of solutions - such as relaxation, group work and discussion - to overcome those problems Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=6879 The impact of linguistic insecurity and linguistic incompetence on efl learners : The case of second year english students at the university of frères mentouri - constantine [texte imprimé] / Oum kelthoum Zouari, Auteur ; Roukia Oultache, Auteur ; Salah Kaouache, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2015 . - 57 f. ; 30 cm.

Note générale : Une copie électronique PDF disponible en Buc Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : This paper illustrates how far Social Network Sites have influenced on foreign language
learning at present in order to develop third year EFL students’ speaking skills and its
effectiveness. Specifically, it seeks to determine whether those interactions through internet
are thought to be most helpful for the improvement of speaking skill or not. Moreover, this
study aims to find out the reasons why choosing this tool to improve English discussion
abilities rather than exercising on it at the classroom with the help of teachers and classmates.
In other words, this research will study and examine the different effects of social Network
sites on Third-year students’ learning progress and their advantages and disadvantages with
shedding some light on student achievement in oral expression lectures by data collection.
Data are collected by means of two questionnaires distributed to a random sample of (fifty
student) third year LMD students besides to ten teachers at Constantine University,
department of arts and English Language both are given a list of 15 questions. The
questionnaires are administered to check whether Social Network Sites influence on students’
speaking skill positively or it has no impact on their speaking behavior. The obtained results
of both students and teachers’ questionnaire show that students still need more practice ad
strategies besides to Oral Expression courses to enhance their performance in English
speaking skill. For that, they had chosen SNSs as a helpful means for them. Teachers also
argued that teachers cannot get sufficiency for students because of the schedule of courses
that’s why teachers advising their students to use SNSs in their positive side. The results
obtained, thus, confirm our hypothesis, stated from the beginning of the study, which says if
students using Social Network Sites they will develop their speaking skillDiplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=8942 The impact of social network sites on the development of efl students’ speaking skill : The case of 3rd year lmd students of english at constantine university [texte imprimé] / Hichem karboua, Auteur ; Jaafer Hadfi, Auteur ; Salah Kaouache, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2016 . - 72 f. ; 30 cm.
