developing the communicative abilities of second year university students at the English
Department. In order to check this correlation, we have hypothesized that if teachers use
cooperative learning in class, they will be able to help Second-Year English students to
enhance their communicative competence in speaking skill. To test the validity of our
hypothesis, we have carried out an investigation through a students’ questionnaire and a
teachers’ questionnaire. Students’ questionnaire consists of fifteen questions and administered
to ninety second year students at the English Department. The teachers’ questionnaire is
composed of fourteen questions given to eight teachers of oral expression. The results of the
study have shown that the use of cooperative learning has positive effect on communicative
competenceDiplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=6440 Developing communicative competence through cooperative learning : The case of second year english students at the university of constantine [texte imprimé] / Hasna Menacer, Auteur ; Imadeddine Saieb, Auteur ; Rym Kemmouche, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2015 . - 89 f. ; 30 cm.

Titre : developing the students’ writing skill through cooperative : The case of third-Year LMD students-university mentouri of Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Mohamed Seddik SAHIM, Auteur ; Ahmed Moumene, Auteur Editeur : CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine Année de publication : 2011 Importance : 69 f. Format : 30 cm. Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : Developing Students’ Cooperative Technique Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : Writing in a foreign language is one of the most difficult and complex tasks for language
learners. It is a complicated skill that requires great effort and practice on the learners’ part
and necessitates the incorporation of an effective method to achieve an acceptable level of
writing. Due to the complexity of this skill, many students find it very difficult to produce
an adequate piece of writing. The present study aims at describing and investigating the
effects of cooperative learning techniques on developing the students’ writing skill. The
aim then is to determine whether the students’ writing ability would be improved when
teachers incorporate cooperative learning in the writing classroom. It is by the means of
two questionnaires devised to both teachers and students from the Department of Foreign
Languages at Mentouri University Constantine that we investigated the hypothesis of this
research work. Teachers’ questionnaire is dedicated to ten teachers of written expression to
get insights about the techniques used in teaching writing and their views of cooperative
learning technique. The students’ questionnaire is given to thirty third-year English
students from the same department during the academic year 2010-2011 to check their
attitudes towards the use of cooperative learning in the classroom. The findings gathered in
this study confirmed the set hypothesis that incorporating cooperative learning in the
writing classroom develops the students’ writing skill.Diplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=3455 developing the students’ writing skill through cooperative : The case of third-Year LMD students-university mentouri of [texte imprimé] / Mohamed Seddik SAHIM, Auteur ; Ahmed Moumene, Auteur . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2011 . - 69 f. ; 30 cm.

Titre : the impact of classroom Interaction on developing students’ communicative competence. : The Case of third year LMD students of english department at constantine university Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Soror Benhassine, Auteur ; Riad Belouahem, Auteur Editeur : CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine Année de publication : 2011 Importance : 59 f. Format : 30 cm. Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : Impact Classroom Interaction Developing Communicative Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : Many teachers believe that classroom interaction can facilitate students’ language development and communicative competence. Therefore, it contributes to language development by providing target language practice opportunities. Hence, the role of the teacher is to direct and facilitate learning. That is, learners are supposed to be provided with chances to use the language naturally through meaningful interaction. The aim of the present study is to determine the role of classroom interaction in developing learners’ communicative competence. This present study seeks to explore the role of teachers in establishing a relaxed and friendly environment where students will feel at ease to interact and negotiate meaning to enhance their communicative competence. It is hypothesised, then, that foreign language learners will be able to improve their communicative competence, if provided with opportunities to use the language naturally through classroom interaction. This study is based on two questionnaires administered to both teachers of Oral Expression (10teachers) and third year LMD students: 50students selected randomly from different groups, at the department of English, University of Constantine1, to collect relevant data about the role of classroom interaction in boosting learners’ communicative competence. The results of the study reveal that most, if not all teachers assume that classroom interaction has a significant impact fostering learners’ communicative competence. Moreover, the majority of learners believe that they need to be more exposed to natural use of the target language in order to build effective communicative strategies. They also believe that interaction is a beneficial tool in enhancing their communicative competence. Titre : The impact of reading on learning and developing vocabulary Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Nourelhouda Mahammed Ousaid, Auteur ; Hadjer Guilane, Auteur ; Farida Bounab, Directeur de thèse Editeur : CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine Année de publication : 2015 Importance : 51 f. Format : 30 cm. Note générale : Une copie électronique PDF disponible en BUC. Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Lettres et Langues Etrangères:Langue Anglaise Tags : Applied Language Studies Reading Learning Developing Vocabulary Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : The purpose of this study is to discuss and analyze the different problems encountered by students in their learning process. Particularly, it has to do with the impact of reading on developing and learning vocabulary. This study is important for EFL students because they experience reading difficulties, and they are less likely to have the adequate knowledge base. Vocabulary is necessary in their education. The present study consists of two chapters. The first chapter is divided into two sections; the first one covers the importance of reading in acquiring vocabulary. It shows different titles of reading comprehension skill: reading definition and techniques, and many strategies for both learners and teachers. The second chapter is practical. It deals with collecting empirical data and information about the thesis. To carry out this research study we have used qualitative and quantitative tools. We have chosen a questionnaire for learners which contain three sections that aim to test vocabulary knowledge and to see why learners find difficulties with reading and vocabulary. We also asked teachers to find out their opinions about the struggles faced by learners. To solve this problem, they answered the questions and proposed many suggestions and much advice which contribute to successful construction of vocabulary. Finally, based on the results obtained from both questionnaires, we found that reading improves the acquisition of vocabulary and, thus, our hypothesis was confirmed.
