This study led to the isolation and identification of fifteen compounds of Cotula anthemoides and eight compounds of Pentzia monodiana including five phenolic acids, nine flavonoids from which one is new, three lignans, one sesquiterpene lactone, two glycosyl phenolics, a glycosyl acid, a diterpene and an nucleoside. The structural determination of the isolated compounds was established by the use of 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopic techniques (1H, 13C, COSY, HSQC, HMBC and ROESY), by mass spectrometry (ESI-MS and HRESI-MS) and by comparison with the literature data. The evaluation of the antioxidant activity by 4 methods (DPPH, ABTS, CUPRAC and chelating by ferrous ions) of the various extracts, showed a good activity of extracts from P. monodiana compared to those of C. anthemoides. Furthermore, extracts of C. anthemoides showed an interesting anticholinesterase activity. However, both of lignanes, flavonol and flavones substituted in C-3, exhibited better antityrosinase and antiradical activities than some flavones only.

This work concerned the phytochemical and biological study of two Algerian medicinal plants Thymus ciliatus (Desf) and Asteriscus graveolens (Forsk.) dc. belonging to the families Lamiaceae and Asteraceae ,respectively. This study led to the isolation of twenty seven products from which seventeen were identified including. Among the isolated compounds, 5 sesquiterpenes from which 3 were new, 6 flavonoids which 1 is new, 4 phenolic compounds and 2 monoterpenes. The structures of the isolated products were elucidated mainly by the combination of spectroscopic methods mainly: NMR techniques (1H, 13C, COSY, HSQC and HMBC), UV spectrophotometry, we also used high resolution mass spectrometry methods and comparison with literature data. The quantification of total phenols and total flavonoids contents of the EtOAc, nBuOH extracts of the aerial parts of Thymus ciliatus (Desf) were determined, EtOAc extract had the highest phenolic and flavonoid contents followed by n-butanol extract. This extracts showed an excellent antioxidant activity by DPPH test. The antioxidant activity of AcOEt and n-BuOH extracts of Asteriscus graveolens was estimated by the DPPH test and β-Carotene bleaching assay. The best result was obtained for the ethyl acetate extract, especially in the DPPH method, where its effect is greater than BHT and α-tocopherol used as standards. Both extracts and some isolated compounds of Asteriscus graveolens were tested for their cytotoxic effect in human cancer cell lines (HCT-116, DLD1 and HDFa). The results indicate that EtOAc extract and isolated compounds 9 α-hydroxyparthenolide, 9β-hydroxyparthenolide et 7,12-dihydroxy-6,7- dihydro-5,(6) E-dehydronerolidol showed significant activity compared to the n-BuOH extract and and the two new compounds. The chemical composition of the essential oil of aerial parts of Thymus ciliatus (Desf) Benth studied by GC-FID and GC-MS showed that this oil is mainly composed of elemol (6.80%), carvacrol (5.86%), γ-muurolene (5.18%), β-sesquiphellandrene (5.09%), bicyclogermacrene (5.04%), β-Pinene (4.49%) and curcumene (4.20%).Note de contenu : Annexes. The phytochemical study of the chloroform extract, of aerial parts of Crysanthemum segetum has allowed us to isolate and identify seven compounds, three polyacetylenes, a flavonoid, two sterols and an aromatic ester. Six of them were isolated for the first time from this species.
Analysis of ethyl acetate and n-butanol extracts of Chrysanthemum segetum by the UHPLCMS technique enabled us to propose the molecular structures of twenty-seven phenolic compounds present in these extracts, the major part of these compounds are flavonoids and coumarins.
In the phytochemical study of ethyl acetate and n-butanol extracts of Limonium pruinosum species, five compounds were identified: two flavonoids, an aromatic ester, a cyclitol and a methylglucoside. These compounds have been described for the first time in this species.
The structures of the compounds have been elucidated mainly by the use of spectroscopic techniques, NMR 1-D and 2-D, UV-Vis, mass spectrometry and comparison with literature data.
In the biological part of our work, the antioxidant capacity of ethyl acetate extract and the flavonoids isolated of Limonium pruinosum species was evaluated in vitro by DPPH test, the ethyl acetate extract showed an interesting antioxidant activity compared to standard.
The antioxidant activities of crude extracts of Chrysanthemum segetum species were evaluated by using two methods, DPPH radical scavenging activity and the CUPRAC method, the results showed that the ethyl acetate extract had the highest activity compared to the other extracts tested.Diplôme : Doctorat en sciences En ligne : ../theses/chimie/KEN7010.pdf Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=10378 Etude phytochimique et biologique des espèces Chrysanthemum segetum L. Several chromatographic methods allowed us to isolate ten products from the n-butanol and ethyl acetate extracts of Phagnalon saxatile from which one is new, and twenty one products from Phagnalon sordidum.
Structures were determined by different spectral methods: nuclear magnetic resonance with different applications (NMR 1H, NMR 13C, COSY, HSQC and HMBC), the mass spectrometry, UV, acid hydrolysis as well as comparison with literature data.
4 methods were used to evaluate the antioxidant activity of Phagnalon sordidum and Phagnalon saxatile. The latter showed a good activity by the use of 4 methods: DPPH, ABTS, CUPRAC and superoxide radical scavenging activity by alkaline DMSO whereas Phagnalon sordidum exhibited a moderate activity with DPPH and CUPRAC tests.
Furthermore, petroleum ether and chloroform extracts from Phagnalon saxatile showed moderate antibacterial activity against the tested strains. The isolated products (1-O- β-D-glucopyranosyl-1,4-dihydroxy-2-((E) 2-oxo-3-butenyl) benzene, 1-O-β-glucopyranosyl- 2(3’,3’-diméthylallyl) hydroquinone and Potassium 4-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzoique acide
methyl ester-5-sulfate) from Phagnalon saxatile showed a moderate cytotoxic activity by the use of MTT method.
